I was expecting mostly unique color schemes or very slight differences, but I was surprised that Relic also made seemingly made tweaks to the armour, helmets, bolters, and paint schemes. Here is to hoping that they make these available for paid dlc.

You can make your own colours in MP (afaik). These are PreOrder Bonus models

They do indeed look good. I really hope we can get our hands on them with Steam DLC after Release (as long as they are not overpriced like 10 bucks for two skins or something like that...). Iron within, iron without!

Carl, I would have thought it would be a few days, maybe a week, before Game will have the Pre-orders available in store, but they will have them, at least for the standard game.

I'm wondering since the Space Marine and Chaos Pre-Order bonuses have been split to different retailers in the US, maybe there won't be a retailer that has both in 1 bonus. That picture is the same one that is on the product page for Space Marine on the Game website over here in the UK, possibly because we don't have as many game retailers here, Game bought the rights to both DLC packs. Don't know if anyone from Relic/THQ could clarify/is allowed to clarify the matter. If not, chances are the DLC will be released later at a nominal fee for those that want it :)

You can V3ng3ance, but the pre-order packs include custom models. e.g. the wolf head backpack which aren't options in the standard editor.

So i guess the Ravens get nothing shiny. I'm confused, does this mean you can't paint your guys in whatever way you want in the game? Because the Blood Raven pack apparently gives you nothing but red armor and doesn't give you Blood Raven themed armor like the Loyalist and Traitor packs.

The Blood Raven bolter seems to have the same skull above the muzzle of the bolter as the Black Templar skin, which the three other pre-order armors lack.

Shuma, suggestion for the first mod for Space Marine: a satchel for the Blood Raven that is bulging with relics from other Chapters. Also, is there any way to texture his helmet's eye lenses so they look "shifty"? This would be an important addition.

Anyway, well spotted, Lowe. It does look like the same bolter. Still, it looks like everything else is standard Mk7 armour.

Nice pics Dox not sure if I like the CSM bolter effect, but that is for a different thread.

On the subject of the blood ravens it is probably a unique badge and colour since I believe in DoW 2s army painter there was "Blood Raven Red" still not as good of a deal as the other skins, but if you can mix and match the badge and color than it is not so bad.

Edit: The Blood Raven model also appears to have its own chest insignia, but without a comparison to the normal MP marine model there is no way to be sure.

If the past few months have shown us anything regarding DLC, it's that THQ and Relic are both willing to change their strategy to better suit the wishes of their customers. If the customers want this stuff enough, then at some point after launch, Ruined is almost certainly gonna come in here and say "due to the overwhelming demand for the skins..." =)

Depends on where you are buying (and if the shops are sending such bonus items in other lands. If I buy in UK I usally do not get preorder items and have to be happy with 10-20€ price savings).

Well here is what appears to be what your standard run of the mill MP Space Marine is going to look like model wise. So as you can see the armor differences are pretty different with the exception of the Blood Raven skin which appears to mostly be a unique badge, eye recolor, as well as a slightly different aquila on his chest.

Overall I think its fine but the lighting from the powersword makes the armor a little strange and it is also worth noting that the powersword seems to be a MP weapon only so they probably used the most bland armor possible to avoid spoiling how custimization works hell they even used Ultramarines instead of some other chapter.

The helmet is different from the older one it looks more like the helmets from DoW 2.

While the overall appearance looks the same as it should since it is the standard Mk. 7 helmet but they appear to have fixed the proportions to make it more accurate to the source material.

Edit: Looking at these pictures I have noticed that the MP marine actually has the right Ultramarine blue color on his armor while Titus does not.

The helmet is different from the older one it looks more like the helmets from DoW 2.gonna have to disagree with you there. doesnt look at all like the ones from DoW2, which to me were really good. it mainly the the eyes where its all wrong. how it goes down and becomes pointy, while in DoW2 you can see it was flat. plus the moutgrill seems to be kinda narrow.

I think you'll find that MP marines texture is missing weathering effects guys;). Since that isn't likliy, this is aprobably a very early screenshot which ws all they had on hand in time for releasing this :).

Yeah the DoW 2 helmets are all wrong, that's not how the Space Marine helmets look in the miniatures or in art work ;) As for the Marine, of course it looks crappy he doesn't have any bling on him, he's probably the rank 0 look.

You guys are ridiculous. I know here at the Relicnews Forums we're all helmet-philes but before you get all worked up about what's 'right' and what's 'wrong,' keep in mind that even your basic, most generic Mk VII helmets have been through countless variations and iterations. There is no official standardized space marine helmet and if it is several degrees off of how you would do it personally, don't let that ruin the game for you. This is Relic we're talking about here. They'll make it cool.

Sorry I keep forgetting I am running with Shuma's helmets so I forgot that is not how they usually look however the Space Marine helmets are still closer to the TT models than anything Relic has done so far.

Basically you can make any chapter standard in game with no pre-order packs. But the packs come with custom armor parts as you can see from the pics above

We can only hope we get legion specific emblems that are generic enough to relate to any original Legion, first or second founding Chapter. Like genero-wolf emblems, or fist icons. Not specifically SW or IF but can be used to emulate them.
