Yesterday I was replaying first part of the Jump pack level.

I decided to get rid of the pesky tankbusters on the top first. I spent a lot of time doing that, toying with them, executing and reloading my shield.

After the last one was finished, I was about to drop in the carnage below, where my mates were busy with slugga swarms.
To my surprise, they stood alone in a pile of green corpses. And that was not fun.

So, the question is...how does the game handle the 2 dudes accompanying you? I fear they might finish the whole game for you while you stand back watching...

Well personally I would find it weird for them not to help deal with the Orks on the low ground while I deal with those on the high ground. It would kind of make what they do and say a bit pointless if they tell me something and then fail to follow it up. In the Inquisitor level you have to do a lot of waiting and kiting for them to deal with all the Orks though in my experiences, bearing in mind I play on Hard too so the Orks are also naturally a bit tougher (if I recall correctly).

Some of the Dolts, like Sword_Monkey, who were lucky enough to play the full game at the recent Community Events should have a better answer having played through more of the singleplayer campaign then anyone with the demo.

I didn't play a tremendous amount of the single-player at the event, but your squad-mates aren't with you the entire game and the enemies seemed to tend to focus you as well as a priority.

It only would tend to be an issue in the particular situation you describe where you've split off from them and are taking a long time to kill off your separate targets.

In this mission they are supposed to deal with the orks on the ground, sometimes they do it very efficiently and sometimes they don't.
