Alright, this was actually my fault... but here's the story:

I was doing some experimentation with editing normal map files, so I followed the tutorials changing the settings on my Photoshop's Nvidia DDS to renormalize the normal map.

Only then did I realize that I don't remember the 'default' settings on the DDS converter, and now whenever I try to save another kind of file like a .dif, they end up looking very, very bad. :(

Anyone here know the default settings for the converter's Normal Map settings?

Ok here is what I have for the defaults

Height Generation - Is correct with what you have.
Alpha Field - Should be set on Height.
Height Source - Should be set on Alpha Channel.
Alternate Conversions - Has nothing selected.

I hope this helps.

As you can see though, my Height Source has Alpha Channel blacked out though, which is quite strange...

Edit: Aaaah, it works marvelously now. Thanks a bunch, I nearly killed my modding career there :D
