Bolt Pistol using ammo - problems

I tried to make the bolt pistol use ammo, but Iran into 2 problems.

1 - I can't make it use the same ammo as the bolter.

2 - the UI still shows infinite ammo, even tough I can clearly run out and pick up more.

Anyone got any ideas?

Just a FYI - the ammo count shows up normally when you're switching weapons.
