Has anyone come up with a good strategy for killing all three clones(dopplegangers) within 5 seconds of eachother?

I imagine it would involve using the Skyray missile barrage and marking all three dopplegangers.

Quite a few ways, I could do it with one orbital beam if done right (units inside the beam).
Tau anti armor missles, get 3 tau with them and each target 1 unit, sync the killing shots though.
Rapid tele hits by ork with the teleporta thing that explodes.
Lord General snipers and Rocket bombers.
And lots more.
There is a sure way to do it though, the glitch helps ;)

I thought you had to kill all of them yourself, otherwise it won't work, I was playing a game with someone the other day and he got it but I didn't so I don't think it's a matter of the three commanders dying within 5 seconds.

Yup, you have to kill them by yourself. It is even in the description of the achievement.

I got this close before one of my "allies" jumped in to snipe the last one. Thanks, dick.
Tau Commander with Mark Target, Coolant, Frag Rockets, Marker Drone + Kinetic Pulse shield. Mark them, lauch rocket barrage while they're clustered, call in Sky Ray Barrage, jump in and Kinetic Pulse to finish them off. If anyone has a better, please let me know b/c I still haven't managed it since then.
[EDIT] Error, I had Shield Drone, ally had Marker Drone. Still, doesn't seem to make that much of a difference.

I think you only need to land the a killing blow, It doesn't have to be on all 3 in a single level. I'm currently on 1/3. So unless you need to do it 3 times, which would seem really harsh I'd suggest you get a point for each killing blow so long as all 3 are dead within the 5 seconds.
:edit: Had another look at the achievement and it looks like you guys are correct. But I'm on 1/3 so you've got to do that 3 times? That is very harsh.

No. You have to do kill them, in 5 seconds between I think. Anyway, 1/3 just shows how close you were to get it, not how many times :p

Same, I have 1/3, just means I've killed 1 in 5 seconds. Actually, that's BS, because I know I got 2... meh, who knows. Anyways: yes, you have to kill all 3 yourself, in the same game, within 5 seconds. Prolly not gonna happen until your lvl 19 or so, unless you're just That. Damn. Good.

Would 3 tau commanders each marking a different commander and each calling in a skyrail barrage be a viable solution? I'm not a high enough level to try this and tbh I've no idea how much damage the barrage does. If it does enough damage to kill, just repeat and change the order of who does the barrage last each time.

I've not managed this yet, but I know I managed to get 2/3 on the first game I played (somehow) and the achievement showed at 2/3, but now it shows as 1/3. It looks like there might be a minor bug where it shows your last effort not your best effort.
I don't know how many people have actually obtained this as it looks quite hard, but I've never seen anybody using the item.

If you look on the Steam Achievements (http://steamcommunity.com/stats/DOW:R/achievements) for the game you'll see only 0.1% of people who own the game have completed the achievement, I'd assume that stat also includes those who have not even bought the dlc however.

Having recently unlocked the Tau Efficiency achievement, I can say it’s more to do with luck than outright skill.
My personal setup was as follows:
- dual burst cannons
- command armor
- anti-armor missiles
- coolant injectors
- markerlight
- heavy gun drone
My 2 allies were another tau commander sporting light/agile armor (cant remember which one to be exact) and mekboy using a teleportation-centric build. The point being that both my allies were sporting low armor ratings *IMPORTANT*.
I made note of where wave 16 would spawn (location of 2nd banshee wave emergence on wave 9, FYI) and camped outside behind cover. As soon as the clones appeared, I was already within their firing range so they engaged me straightaway and did not move from their spawn point which coincidently kept them closely clustered together *IMPORTANT*.
I shot off a round of anti-armor missiles and the resultant damage took off approx. 75% from the primary target and the splash damage caused approx. 45-50% damage to the other 2 clones (due to their close proximity to one another from clustering together). All the while, I was firing from behind cover with dual burst cannons and with gun drone support.
To cap things off, I markerlighted the primary target and called in a skyray barrage. The single detonation and its AoE damage was sufficient enough to kill off all 3 clones (all of whom were extremely low on health by now) in one fell swoop.
In short:
- Camp outside clone spawn location behind cover
- Shoot off anti-armor missiles at point clone; splash damage will be dealt to the other 2 (based on the assumption that they cluster together)
- Markerlight
- Call in a barrage
- Job done
Lady Luck be with you! She certainly was with me on that day :)

i got it. think i lucked out with my rocket shot (after someone else rocketed it).. though i might have taken the 1st and 3rd shot. and i think i snared the lot of them.
must say, seems only the bomb marker drone is useful. does anyone use the emp/shield one? the gunner one... doesn't seem to survive long enough when things go nuts. whereas the bomb thing.. you call and blow amidst the enemies

Here are a few ideas that might help you get the "Tau Efficiency" achievement...
1). Hold them in place...
Tau : Plasma Rifle, Networked Weapon Interface - Command Armor - Snare Mines, Coolant Injectors, Anti-Armor Missile Pod - No commander item
Captain : Bolter - Armor of Resilience - Oath of Merciless Rage, Jump Pack, Terror of Xenos - No commander item
Farseer : Pistol of the Warseer, Witchblade of Isha - Mantle of Malan'tai - Runes of the Harlequin, Runes of Vigor, Runes of the Spider - Spirit Stone of Illusion
At the end of wave 15, place a few Snare Mines on the exact spot where the clones will spawn. Have everyone stand in the gate the clones will spawn in. As soon as the clones spawn, the Captain stuns them (repeatedly until they've been killed), the Farseer entangles them (again repeatedly until they've been killed) and you use the twin Plasma Rifles to drop their health to maybe 20% or so, then fire an Anti-Armor Missile at them - this should finish them off. If not, finish off anyone left standing with the twin Plasma Rifles.
2). Low armor, team-mates as decoys...
Tau : Plasma Rifle, Networked Weapon Interface - Default Armor - Snare Mines, Anti-Armor Missile Pod, Targeting Cluster - No commander item
Captain : Bolter - Default Armor - Oath of Merciless Rage, Jump Pack, Terror of Xenos - Dreadnought Drop Pod
Captain : Bolter - Default Armor - Oath of Merciless Rage, Jump Pack, Terror of Xenos - Dreadnought Drop Pod
During wave 15, have one of your team-mates drop a Dreadnought in front of the gate the clones will spawn in, to create a crater. At the end of wave 15, place a few Snare Mines on the exact spot where the clones will spawn, then stand in the Dreadnought crater (make sure the green cover indicator appears when you right click). Have your team-mates drop their Dreadnoughts on the other side of the map then come and stand between you and the clones as decoys. As soon as the clones spawn, fire an Anti-Armor Missile at your clone - this should kill him and leave the captains on low health. Then finish them off with the twin Plasma Rifles - this should only take a few seconds.
3). Low armor, high damage...
Tau : Plasma Rifle, Networked Weapon Interface - Default Armor - Snare Mines, Anti-Armor Missile Pod, Targeting Cluster - No commander item
Sorcerer: Staff of Tzeentch - Armor of Eternal War - Sigil of Greater Sorcery, Sigil of Master Sorcery, Daemonic Gift of Sustenance - Icon of Pain
Sorcerer: Staff of Tzeentch - Armor of Eternal War - Sigil of Greater Sorcery, Sigil of Master Sorcery, Daemonic Gift of Sustenance - Icon of Pain
At the end of wave 15, place a few Snare Mines on the exact spot where the clones will spawn. Find a green cover position where you're still in missile range of the clones and stand in it - have your team-mates stand close enough so that you're under the effect of their "Aura of Power" trait. As soon as the clones spawn, fire an Anti-Armor Missile at your clone (your timing has to be spot on here, otherwise your clone will kill you) - this should kill him and leave the sorcerers on low health. Then finish them off with the twin Plasma Rifles - this should only take a few seconds.
4). Exploding drone - if you know someone who already has the achievement...
Tau : Plasma Rifle, Networked Weapon Interface - Command Armor - Coolant Injectors, Anti-Armor Missile Pod, Targeting Cluster - No commander item
Tau : Flamer, Networked Weapon Interface - Command Armor - Snare Mines, Coolant Injectors, Advanced Drone Controller - Marker Drone Controller
Tau : Flamer, Networked Weapon Interface - Command Armor - Snare Mines, Ion Battery, Coolant Injectors - No commander item
At the end of wave 15, have your team-mates place a few Snare Mines on the exact spot where the clones will spawn. Stand just out of missile range of the clones - have your team-mates stand close enough so that you're under the effect of their "Improved Targeting" trait. When the clones spawn, wait for them to spawn their Marker drone, then have your team-mate with the Advanced Drone Controller make it self destruct. As soon as the drone explodes (this shouldn't kill any of them, just leave them on low health) move into range and fire an Anti-Armor Missile at the clones - this should finish them off. If not, finish off anyone left standing with the twin Plasma Rifles.

I got it after 2nd day of release, at level 16 tau, with dual plasma, target cluster, photon grenades, I fight against two other tau at high level and heavy armor. Only people with no talent need tricks to get that simple task. Anyway ADC is useless anyway. I do not use it anymore, it is hit and miss, nothing beats anti armor missiles, no advance drone controller no nothing.
Marker Drone Detonation is brutal against everything, On the Coliseum map Wave 12, it can nearly one shot a Wraith Lord on its own.
But ADC is far from useless and is infact very useful for a variety of different builds. Such as a Heavily armored CCing bastard jumping in to stun groups, summoning a marker drone and blowing it up immediately to take out a group of enemies.

Hi there,
Tried this achievement but still failing.
Some guys told me to use flamers/repulser as it prevent the tau clone to jump and use missiles or one-shot me.
Here is the config i am using:
Flamer / Repulser Shield (or Networked Weapon Interface)
XV8 ‘Command’ Crisis Battlesuit
Anti-Armor Missile Pod / Coolant Injectors / Snare Mines
Heavy Gun Drone Controller (or Marker Drone controller)
Explanation:
Flamer prevents Tau clone jumping or firing anti-armor missile, kinetic pulse can finish off remaining guys.
Snare mines slows them down, commander armor gives damages bonus as well as marker drone but heavy gun drone can be useful too.
End of wave 15 drop mines (a lot) and wait at flamer range of the spawn point, flame them and wait till they are low health then fire missile and use kinetic pulse if there is some guys left.
A few questions also:
1. Can ally do damages? Some guys said that you only need to hit clones then if they die all 3 whatever you killed them or not you got it...
2. If heavy gun drone kills a clone does it count for it? As it count as one of your kill for stats...
3. The 5 sec starts running as soon as you fire or as soon as one clone dies?
4. The 5 sec is between kills or just after the first kill? For example, I kill one, then i got 5 sec to kill another one and 5 sec again for the last one / or I kill one and got 5 sec to kill the 2 remaining?
5. If for some reason a clone dies and get revived by another clone can i still achieve it?
Hope I can help you and you can help me.
This is one of the hardest achievement to get IMO.

biggest problem of ADC is marker drone move about randomly, just the unpredictable nature of drone movement kill the usefulness. it kill friendly too.

No, you must kill all three by yourself
2. If heavy gun drone kills a clone does it count for it? As it count as one of your kill for stats...
yes, it counts, but you use gun drone? that useless thing, remember you are taking out heroes, not grunt
3. The 5 sec starts running as soon as you fire or as soon as one clone dies?
5 sec start when doppleganger appear
4. The 5 sec is between kills or just after the first kill? For example, I kill one, then i got 5 sec to kill another one and 5 sec again for the last one / or I kill one and got 5 sec to kill the 2 remaining?
5 sec between kills

if clone get revive, you should not worry about this achievement, you are going to die in level 16. No one should use revive in coliseum

That's pretty much why the build I utilize it in, I summon it directly to where I want to detonate it, since with the Cooling Injectors its free and you just have the cooldown to deal with. Heavy jetting into a group, dropping the drone, starting detonation sequence and jumping out again is brutal. Just make sure you jet immediately or you die yourself. But that adds tot he fun of it.
