Hi folks.
Quick background:

I'm new to using the mod tools and I've just been tinkering around with the reinforcement/leaders abilities. I've successfully given the Force Commander a retinue (similar to Imperial Guard General) and allowed several space marine campaign Honour Guard units increased squad sizes and leaders (nothing drastic - Veteran Marines and Veteran Assault Marines now 4 man squads + sergeant, originally did this with Veteran Terminators too, but they were very over powered so changed it back!).

I'm now looking at doing the same to other races and I've started with Chaos. I've successfully given the Chaos Lord a retinue but when I came to trying to expand the Chosen Champion (Chaos_aspiring_champion_advance_sp.rgd) squad size I can't get the game to run.

I've changed the squad_loadout > unit_max from 1 to 5 (not adding a leader) and added the squad_reinforce_ext and completed it.

I'm assuming this is to do with Chosen being able to be used to summon the Bloodthirster? I've tried removing the 'possesses_ext' from the chosen's .rgd in the EBPS file but that hasn't helped. Am I missing something? Is another ability or power causing havoc?

Any insight would be very valuable as it could help with further tinkering.

Regards,

Paulus.

I had exactly the same problem. The issue is that Chosen Champion honour guard unit is designated as having "complex upgrades" in its blueprint. The game engine does NOT like having squad sizes over 1 for units of this type. It's been a while since I came across this problem, but I think it was easily solved in this case by simply switching complex upgrades to "false" in "Data\attrib\ebps\races\chaos\troops\chaos_aspiring_champion_advance_sp". I'm not sure why this was even set to "true" for this unit in the first place, frankly.

Anyway, that should fix the problem.

Brilliant! That worked like a charm and now I know something to look for in the future. Thanks very much!

To tinkering, AWAY!
