I just checked out battlefleet Gothic and it looks pretty neat for a space fleet battle genre. So I wanted to know before purchasing anything, what you people think of it. What's fun what's not etc.. Does it have a good replay factor, things like that? Thx.

I think it's loads of fun, and it can be pretty cheap to play.

My fleet is large (1,500 points) but fleets this size are very rare. In my experience, most games dont go over 750 points.

This usually means a couple cruisers, and 8-12 escorts.

That's pretty cheap.

I suggest demo'ing it first, though.

I haven't played it yet but some friends do and are talking me into building a fleet. Compared to normal GW products, BFG is a cheap game and that's a definite plus. I'll probably start building a fleet next month, before we start our local combined 40K/ BFG campaign. I'll probably start with a Dark Angels fleet, to match my largest 40K army.

Nice, 40k/BFG combo! :) You guys fight in space than beat the crap out of yourselves on planets with 40k?

yeah, and there are ruls for doing it too, in a back issue of WD... i think its a great game, but for sme reason it seemed to come and go in GW stores like a fad, i mean when it was released, every time i went into my tore, they had the tables set out to play a huge game, but then afer all he hype (about 3 weeks) it disappeared. i did start building a fleet but by the time the orks range was released, everyone had stopped playing :(

seriously good game, worth the invesment! i suggest eldar, or necrons

My Gw does that sometimes too, I havnt participated yet but it looks quite excellent. About BFG though, I have played little, but I LOVE THE RULES. Fairly tactical, and fast paced. I would recommend it, Im trying to get a few friends into it though it is not doing so well.

games can stay small, like 750, but i've played in games with 3000 points on a side. they take like6 hours to play, but things get real fun when those to battle lines hit.....
but its probably my most favorite GW game out there.

BFG is a fun game, i have a good 1500 point Dark angels fleet, and still its growing,

Space marine Battlebarges are tough ships

Cool! A friend and I have been thinking about picking BFG up for some time. The cost thing is the best argument for it yet, maybe I can get my buddy to commit to the idea now :Slap:.....

the most fun i have had with my bfg is useing it in a campaign setting with 40 k and inquisitor missions tied in it lets you stratigically do 40k universe campaigns and since i play black templars my chapter is based in space since bts have no homeworld

i have about 4000 points of imperial fleet, including 2 battleships. unfortunately not many people play it round here.

i do have one regular opponent with chaos but getting beaten too many times can get annoying. :(
