I dont know if I had to choose I would proably go with khorne, rather look like satan with a huge axe than a mutated bird with magic.
but if I was to be related to chaos at all,I would choose to be a fallen.
and the world eaters joined khrone.
death guard joined nurgle
and emperor's childern took slaanesh

The Deathguard follow Grandfather Nurgle. Their special character is Typhus, Herald of Nurgle. I play this army so I can vouch for how mean they are. They're all inherently tougher and have access to one of the coolest weapons, the plaguesword. If you wound something and it doesn't die, on a 4+ it dies anyways. It's a powersword to boot too, so it's easy to would with.
The WorldEaters follow Khorne, the Blood God. Their special character is Kharn the Betrayer. They're all evil bastards that're hard as heck to beat in close combat. A squad of 8 chosen killed my squad of 20 skarboyz the other day, and he only lost 3 chosen in the process (two from melting himself with plasma guns). If you like gettin' up close and personal, this is a good army.
The Thousand Sons follow Tzeench, the God of Change. Their special character is Ariman of the Thousand Sons. This army is tricky, cauze everyone's a socerer, has two wounds, moves as if through difficult terrain and expensive, points wise. But they all fire as if stationary I believe, don't have to roll a psychic test to use their spells, and can cast more'n one spell a turn through thrall wizards. Just don't charge your basic troops towards anything that can instant kill them, thus eliminating the usefulness of having 2 wounds.
The Emporer's Children follow Slannesh, Keeper of Secrets. Their special character is Lucius the Eternal. This is a kinda tricky army too. They can be very shooty and close combatish at the same time. One of the neatist things they have access to is combat drugs which can let you choose up to three things (have to roll a test) to have in close combat, such as ignore the first failed armor save, +1 strength, +1 attacks and so forth. The vehicles can really hurt your leadership if they're close enough ( up to -2 or -3) through some warp amp or whatnot. They're pretty cool.
Hope that helps. Give me a tell if you want anymore detail.

I'm secure enough in my sexual orientation to not confuse Pink with a certain preferance of love, but Somehow a predator doesn't look as threatening with that pink paintjob...

who do the iron warriors worship and what do u need to convert SM stuff to use in a chaos army
NightBringer
29th Jun 04, 1:49 PM
iron warriors dont worship any god, they think they are all cool enough. and to convert sm all you need is either the csm mutation srprue, or lots of spiky bits :P
KingKupo
29th Jun 04, 1:50 PM
the iron warriors don't worship one specific god, and as such are chaos undivided. as for SM into CSM convertion, slap on some spiky bits and paint a chaos colour scheme.

Nurgle is pretty awesome. If any Chaos player has used the Manreaper, you know what I'm talking about (10 power weapon attacks baby!) ;).
However the new rules have hurt my old tactics in a number of ways. Plasmas are not so great anymore, and the +1 Toughness doesn't count for much against armies with lots of rapid fire weapons....
As such I think Emperor's Children are probably among the most powerful, despite their pink paint jobs.
Edit: Oh yeah! The Word Bearers are awesome too. They can have up to 9 troop choices in a standard mission (holy crap!).

You know I dont understand why 12 berzerkers cost $30.00 and 7 plagemarines cost $30.00
HeraldofNurgle
29th Jun 04, 6:17 PM
Yeah it sucks huge balls. Because the plauge marines are pewter still unlike berzerkers, which are now a plastic kit. You can convert regular chaos marine models into plauge marines easily enough with green stuff (an epoxy), but its time consuming :(.

word bearers are a khorne army and they have kahrn the betrayer he is badass in cc but my black templars ec has killed him at least 3 times
HeraldofNurgle
29th Jun 04, 9:55 PM
No the Word Bearers are not allied with Khorne. They take the Mark of Chaos Undivided rather and are considered the most zealous of Chaos followers. They actually have fallen Chaplains with their own Crozius and everything. They're pretty cool, they also tend to use a lot of daemon packs (at least in the fluff they do), making them pretty powerful. Their fallen Chaplains can take the Demagogue ability which basically makes troops nearby him fearless ;).

wordbearers can also field the most amount of daemons on the TT :P thats all kinds of daemons, not just god specific :P

I think you are meaning the WORLD EATERS. They worship Khorne.
The Word Bearers worship chaos undevided. They also can have any sort of demons in their armies, if I'm not mistaken.

I if any would go for iron warriors purely because im opposed to deamons and mutations. I also like big seige armies and im looking for a change from black templars and white scars space marines which are 2 very fast armies.
I am put off by tzeentch because of all the bizzare weapons and the army is based around fantasy models. Khrone is cool but its just not my style. Im ok with all the deamons but i just dont want another close combat orientated army.

1. Why did you make two topics about this?
2. All your answers are in this thread (http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=27789)
There is a new Table of Contents up at the top of the forum, so check out the big threads there before posting a new thread. :D
