What is inspiration?

I have noticed ever increasingly the plain arrogance of many gw fans over the internet as of late.For example everyone goes around saying almost every fantasy of scifi world is a blatant rip-off of 40k or whfb.

Take starcraftfor example because it has zerg amoungst other things, HAS anyone ever seen the alien movies and ever thought that the 'nids may have been inspired by the early movies look at the newer hive tyrant model for example and compare to the hive queen.Of course in turn the alien movies are inspired by living creatures and there social patterns ala ants.So even if the creation of the zerg was inspired by the 'nids is it such a crime?.

Of course never forget Whfb is inspired by tolkien and his work some places even sharing similar or the same names!.

Anyhow to make this post shorter my point is that almost everything is inspired by something be it fiction, real life, or other and to accuse things of being a rip-off is just plain arrogant. end rant

actually, it's really all inspired by the same damn stuff, just some things or ppl got inspired b4 others. the damn stuff is history and myth. read about it, and you'll know about it, and realise that computer game you play 8 hrs a day is the same thing w/ different names for the places and ppl. Tolkien took VERY heavily from norse myths, but who cares, his books are awesome.

i get my inspiration from the lord of echelon during the TAOSP saga in which the almighty moderator of the battle of ithica and cantarina alpha 9 sector 3.2 smited five threads in .2 seconds and put a scurge upon seven posts shortly there after.
