Yes this Thread Is Similar to the old one posted by LairytheHairy a while back, but fairly recently There was another Game Cube released (in Japan only). Does It matter to you if the Game Cube Has more advance feature than the old one or is the PS2 still better, with a better Price?

Neh, I'll take the small-cheap-simple original over this newfangled thing any day - already got a DVD player, what do I need a console that can play them for?

SMASH BROS!!!! instant gratification when you send your freind flying off screen
***warning rant***
anyways, i dont see why people care whether or not a console can play DVD's. Its a gaming system, not a DVD Player (incase the point is brought up about DVD-Roms for comps, comps arent just gaming systems :)). Even at that, the DVD Players on consoles are pretty bad quality. You can buy a better DVD player with the xtra 100$ that you save from the added price to the console. I have a PS2 and it stopped playing DVD's after awhile (i bought it in x-mas 2000 when they were first released, so its got wear and tear) whereas my other DVD-Player is about 3 years old, its pretty cheap model, and still has tons better quality then the PS2's did.
Also i think its evil of MS to make u pay additional to have the XBOX's DVD abilities enabled (i heard it was like 50 bux)

hehe thats the end of my rant, dont mind me ;)

all of these interactive games are made for DVD-Roms, i cant think of one that has been made compatible for a console (please correct me if im wrong)

I Think that because my little brother has a Tarzan DVD and he wanted to play the game on it, and It worked, I could be wrong about this, but another DVD that Had this feature didn't work...Maybe it only works for a few DVD Players... :D

So you are saying that this "NEW" Game Cube will play a DVD?

yea theres some DVD's that have that built-in game that can be played on any DVD-Rom. I think Shrek had this (along with DVD-Rom only features) that u could play on any DVD-Player, not a console specifically. It was simple things like tell ur guy to move into this room and solve this puzzle. Same with The Emporers New Groove, simple trivia game that would have u move ahead or fall behind rependong on ur answers.
Is this like what Tarzan had?

so are you saying that there is gonna be onr big slot for both the game and the DVD, or two seprate slots, one for the game and one for the DVD?

I Hate Game Cube
PS2 is much better in terms of games and gameplay. XBOX is also amazingly better than GC. (Haaaalllooooo....uuuuunnnngghggglllhlhlllllll....)
Even though it's a GC the DVD version looks really cool. But who cares if it had a DVD player I already have 3 in my house (Computer, PS2, DVD player).

The "Q" as it's called, if I recall, has two slots; the regular pop top for the Mini-DVDs and a PCish slot for DVDs. I doubt the DVD player can play regions 1-6. It can be modded for USA games, but not DVD play unless you crack into the software.
Plus the Japanese Q is only $300
