One day, if/ when I own enough tanks. Which may be never, given the way the prices are going.

I will soon since I got the imperial armor book and the fact that i got 3 tanks, a bassilisk and 3 imperial navy planes.
I have played *against* an armoured company consisting of about fifteen tanks. My poor litlle dreadnought stood out in front of the advancing column all by himself and managed to soak up two vanquisher hits and four battle cannon shots before he went down. Halted their progress for a full two turns, great little thing.
The guy who I was playing could have fielded 32 tanks if he'd wanted... he owns that many.

Holy shit :argh:

ive played armoured company once or twice, i have around 15 tanks.
5 battle tanks
2 demolishers
3 chimeras
1 laser destoryer
1 vanquisher
2 hellhounds
1 exterminator
1 valkarie (dont think this can be in AC tho - cant remember)
i did also have a basilisk and a griffon, but they have kind of fallen apart because i didnt look after them.
well back to the question- yeah i field armoured companies once every so often, but i usally tend to use a normal imperial guard army. Last time I used an armoured company, i sat most of my tanks at the back the battle field with supporting infantry (armoured fist platoon 1 HQ 2 Sqauds) and just blasted the crap outta my freinds army, which was a small elite SM army of iron hands, we never once got into combat. I also bought an orbital bombardment- which missed everytime and sucked totaly. I lost of couple of tanks to long range shots from a pred and whilwind, but i was never really threatened, which made the battle slightly boring.
if you wanna have intresting battles its best to make the company go some where, other wise you will just sit at one side of the board and wipe the enemy army out with massed firepower - which you have more than enough of.

possible to have an armoured company for tratiors?
hmm intresting, there is an actually army list that allows Guard Armies to form armoured companies. there isnt one for traitor armies. so no technically it isnt possible.
but i suppose if your playing with freinds you could adopt the Armoured Company rules to form a Choas one, ie no Vanquishers, Laser Destroyers, replace imperial navy bombers with the choas ones, no commissar tanks, so yes it could be possible but only really in a group of friends. after all your not allowed to take ur own home made army lists to tournaments.

i think you can look at it two ways:
contra: chaos forces do not produce their own gear. they more or less have only what they had before they joined chaos. i think tanks are probably a little rare for chaos to field armored companies.
pro: an armored company could have joined the cause of chaos at a later point, with most of their tanks still intact. in theory, anything that the forces of the empire posess could be found in a chaos army due to treachery.

ooo this is good :evilnod:
i know an IW army can include titans but a tank colum would be even better for me :Pike:

yeah but as i say as its a home made army list in effect you would have to ask your opponents if its ok. also in the current army lists you cant have an AC and a normal guard army, its one or the other.

it would give them somthing new to laugh at
im sure they would be kind enough to let me play a game with it, hell they might even want to join in!

chaos titans are sold via forgeworld. so I'd say they're legit, no?

yeah you could use titans for choas, as the choas titan buy bit is linked to a set of rules.
alto titans aint actually that good, but i spose they would rock against a normal army. its just a blaneblade can cause more damage than a titan.

but then what are the chances of coming up againsed a baneblade?

lol there is very little chance of meeting either in a normal battle, anyway its not that the baneblade would win in a fire fight against the titan, its that it has the ability to cause damage and destruction on a wider range of units (all of its weapons can fire at differnt units) and it has tons of guns to hurt a low of units. the titan has two guns so can hurt two targets, but these guns are more powerful than that of the baneblade.
how do the guns on the titan work? like ordanance blasts or like multipul ordinance blasts O_o

slightly offtopic question:
how nasty are stormblades?
they seem to have a couple of rather BIG boomers on them.
aren't they sold as plastic kits?
resin is so damn expensive :p

i used to play steel legion AC.
HQ - Command Armored Fist squad and three Sentinels
Elites - 2 Stormtrooper and 1 Hardened Veteran Armored Fist squads
Troops - 6 Armored Fist Squads
Fast Attack - 3 Hellhounds
Heavy Support - 2 Basilisks, 1 Leman Russ
16 tanks.
Edit:
Havoc, superheavies are resin kits only. they will never be released as plastic.

I dont see how titan weapons could be anything but S10 Ap1 ordanance guns i mean, i thought the volcano cannon on a shadowsword looked too small to be a titans gun, look at the artwork on the titan comic strip (seriously BIG guns)
As for traitor AC, i dont see problems fluffwise or for gameplay. in friendly games or scenarios you can just use AC as traitor guardsmen without a problem (i have seen it at a black library open day) and if you read gaunt's ghosts, esp. necropolis and honor guard, youll see that traitors can use as many or more tanks than IG
