dont get a whirlwind
i had one but i got rid of it cos every game they distroyed it its armour is crap
you might as well get a devastator squad with 4 missile launchers lol :P their good against tanks, whirlwind isnt and also good against infantry, they can take out whole squads in one turn!!

whirlwinds are rather nasty, they have indirect fire so stick em behind cover,then you can guess to hit the back armour of the enemy tanks.

whirlwind guess attack will only has a 2 in 6 (scatter dice) chance of actually hitting its target, with missiles you have a 4 in 6 chance of hitting and most vehicles used against space marines have 13 or less front armour (no IG:P). and missiles are also great anti infantry

well, they are right dont go with the whirlwind, with this being a BT army, your guys are going to get in there, and you dont want to hit them as well. However, BT amries cant have dev squads, so you cant do that, sorry bud. maybe get a tank; or use the points on rhinos ( which i would do). i would even loose the high marshall. dont really need 3HQ's(ec included) in a 2000 point match. i would loose one termie squad, probably the shootie one, and up the other squad to 8 and stick them in the LRC. I like the rest, but it being 2000 pts, id say you might be over with what would be left,hehe, im not sure what else you should do, like i said, i like it all. maybe ill think of somthing and post later. good luck with your list.

just remember, that original list is not allowed, the emps champion doesn't count towards the force org chart and as such you will need another HQ unit to have the minimum needed

so maybe a chaplain in termie armour
He has an HQ unit, the high marshall. He doesn't need another.
On another note, I'm glad to see you take storm shields for some of your assault initiates. Very few people do that. Yay for originality!
:/ i wish BT could have Librarians.

Nice anomalie, sorry about the HQ mix up, i thought you had a chap. in there. im glad to see your gonna up the assualt squad. you can put high marshal in termi armor and send him along with this squad if you wnat, jsut drop it to seven. and nice choice to put a thunder hammer and storm shield on him. i may try that now, if you dont mind ;)
Fend: i admit, the librarians can hurt, but, BT hate psykers; friend and foe. so i dont think that will happen
O_o. one more thing anomalie, think of putting some purity seals on you CC squads, very handy for getting in there, as thats what BTs do best

just remember, black templar do not have devastator squads, so we kinda cant.
black templar dont have sergants in most squads, and can only have a vet serg in a command squad

I'd still take a whirlwind anyday, the trick is to place a squad of marines in a doppler ring setting of similair distance. So you know what distance to call, thus fire the whirlwind last unless you're sure.
A massive template with ordanance is shattering, and the range is excellent. If used properly it's an earth shattering and morale snapping weapon.

I don't remember that in the vehicles rules sections, but it's been a while since i played.
It's still easily overcome by making sure you know the deployment zone width, and then a fairly obvious guess at both ends.

remember, all sergents and hq's get purity seals for free so no need to spend it on the terminator squad if the chaps gonna be with them, the onyl weapon the chaplainw ill get for free is the crozius, you cans till give him another weapon
also...use army builder, great program for making armies, actually has all the black templar urules built in so you dont accidently do stupid things, XD
