The Titan are cool but all those tanks. It is a lot like norm game but with armor and hit tables. Now that I think about it it is a lot like 2nd and a little of OLD "rouge trader" mixed in

One of the early things that turned me off Epic was the scale. Look at a pretty [at least 'Eavy Metal Quality] 40k Model, then an Epic Model. You just cant make em look great.
Still the new rules are pretty cool. The thing to remember is its DIFFERENT than 40k. Some will love it, others not. That and opponents are generally few and far between.

Actually, I would say that the minis are much easier to paint then 40K style, as you can get a nice looking infantry model in just a few strokes. In any case, the new edition is Epic: Armageddon and details the 1 and 2 wars for Armageddon. They have miniature ranges for Orks, Space Marines, and IG, though off Ebay you can also get chaos, tyranids, and Eldar, along with older versions of models in the current range. Tau can be found off forgeworld. The best thing is that almost every planned race for the game already has an experimental army list up. The scale of battles is awesome of course, and the rules are a lot easier then 40K (its also a lot harder to bend the rules around for your own gain). In my own humble opinion, Armageddon is second only to Blood Bowl as the best game system GW has ever put out.

Necromunda is cool... but I think that painting Epic is just as easy, and cheaper :bandit: . I will defend it to the last.

That was a good one !
There are many ways to overcome that, like those magnifying lenses with incorporated floodlight that dermatologists also use :)
Anyway, Epic: Armageddon is a really solid, incredibly fun system. Alone the possibility to lead a WHOLE ADEPTUS ASTARTES CHAPTER into battle is electrifying.

Do they still sell the big Epic starter kit that comes with a few Titans and such. I remember playing it long ago, but I would like to start again with that big beginer kit.

Unfortunately, Fanatic (the daughter of GW having taken control of the Specialist Games range) has no starter kit that I am aware of, yet there are many blisters and boxes with individual unit types allowing you to tailor your force to your tastes much better than the old system allowed. Maybe you can get it on ebay.
