Alright me and my younger brother played a small 40k skirmish today (it took like two hours) and we had to use aporxies. so towards the end my single hive tyrant was fighting off all of his necrons (he only has one actual necron) it was 4 necies against one hive tyrant. so did the close combat was it ilegal because of the 4 fighting 1 tyrant?

illegal? because it was 4 v 1? that sounds like a lot of rubbish. your allowed to outnumber your enemies no question.
also if he had 4 men on the board he should have phased out or almost phased out.

he had more men if i killed one of his necies they would regenrate and/or moved another guy in which i belive was also illegal since they broke up from the main unit

this would only happen in the next turn of CC. he had 4 'crons in base contact with your 1 tyrant yes? if you killed one (which would be bad dice rolling on the tyrant side) then he'd have 3 left in combat with the tyrant.
if those 4 'crons were part of a larger squad (i.e more than just four) and were the only ones who could get into CC with your tyrant, then in whoever's turn it was next, 1 more could move into combat yes... but only if it was a member of the same squad, or if there were 2 squads of 'crons in CC with your tyrant.
otherwise, if it really was just those 4 agasint your 1, and you killed one of his 'crons, then no he cant move another into CC unless the 1 he moved was within 6" so it could assault you (if it was his turn)
hope that made sense :werd:

a necron which regens if placed in the nearest sqaud of the same type, so sqauds can become mixed and broken up.
to tell you the truth i dont totaly understand what your asking.

If you ignore a 'crons save in CC or double his toughness, he gets no "We'll Be Back".
