View Full Version : [BUG] Transport/Deep Strike Unloading by Enemies

Having just done this to someone in a game, i thought it was quite funny, but nevertheless stupid.

Get an enemy transport, get them to load a squad into it, and then select it yourself. None of the buttons in the right hand panel are there (as you would expect) but for some reason, instead of showing the stats panel, it shows up the loaded units panel in the main window. This means you can click the enemy unit and actually unload it. I don't know if this means you can deepstrike enemy units (seeing as they use the same system) but I think it would be quite funny if you could (I normally play eldar so would have no problem with it ;) )

EDIT: OK, me and Hawley just tried this again, but with me as Eldar and him as SM. He was able to unload a guardian squad from my Falcon, and I was able to deepstrike both a dreadnaught and an SM squad from his Orbital Relay.

This needs to be fixed.

just as it happens, i was the "someone", we were playing chaos vs space marines

the chaos transport was filled with chaos space marines, we didn't try this with any other transports or races tho

This bug wins the "Best way to mess with someones head." award. Im going to have to try this out it sounds ammusing. Deff needs to be fixed though.

perhaps we should award the QA team for their keen ability to detect bugs ;)

i wonder how such an obvious bug slipped thru

Because nobody uses transports for one. Im suprised you found it. I couldn't ever imagine myself selecting my opponents buildings either. The only time I ever select anything on an opponents team is because I've forgotten something about the stats and I want to read them.

fair point, but its still pretty funny that a bug of this magnitute passed the QA team

Especially as the transport GUI change is one of the few GUI changes that have been made. Would've thought they'd've tested it. Anyway. Dunno wtf hawley was doing with a transport in the first place, I assume it was to try and get past my 10 whirlwinds bombing the area just outside his base ;)

There was a very similar bug that made it through in HW2, which was found by accident and was not easily duplicatable.
