Well I tried DoW for the first time last night, and was well pleased when in the tutorial I could use ctrl+ a number to assign and control subgroups :)

I have a suggestion though...one thing I miss from WC3 is the ability to press the numeric key assigned twice quickly like "11" and the main window will shift instantly to the location of the unit or building assigned to that number. So you can effectively shift into the heat of the battle without having to scroll across the map or click on the minimap.

If there is a way to do this already that I have missed...or you think its a good/stupid idea please let me know :)

It does it already AFAIK... if it doesn't it should.

Alright, I'll give it another go when I get home from work tonight. My only experience so far with it was playing the tutorial at 2am in the morning after downloading the file, so I could have easily messed up there :bandit:

View does shift to the group on a double tap of a numeric key. The part were it gets interesting is when the group is spread out across the map. It picks a kind of mid point between all the units in the group which usually leads it to focus on nothing important.

The question then might be: Should a double tap focus on the first unit in the group in a situation like that. Then when you have the group selected and you are "Tab"ing thru the subgroups in the group, should it focus on the currently selected subgroup when they are spread out.

Of course all this is just idle speculation and would probably add an inordinate amount of time to the development and would probably cause the developers that much more stress then they already must be under.
