[HOWTO?] Open/Close the console.

i got a console in the game, when i write something.....it comes down from the top and hides half of the monitor.....i dont know how i can remove it.....the only change to get out ist: "quit" ...but then i leave the hole game.....

i dont know if its a bug, but i need help...;)

Oh yes, I got exactly the same thing! And I didn't manage to remove it!

at least on a german keyboard, i found out that you can open open and close the console with the "ö" key,dunno what the american pendant is

I had that too, all you have to do is press the ` button right beside the 1 key up at the top left of the key board.

press it once to open, twice to make it larger and thrice to close it. hope that helps.

Why in the name of all things holy did they bind it to '. That's just sadistic..so many times I hit comma when typing a sentance (it is rather widely used in languages, believe it or not), only to have the console appear and prevent me typing for 20-30 seconds after it goes. Surely you could assign it to a more sane key, like `? (one left of "1") It would prevent so much pain..

It does get annoying, and its the apostrpahe key on my 'board. Also go to all chat after you take the console away, that removes the pause in team chat, just press the All chat button, then press enter twice, brings you back to Team chat.

On the British Keyboard (and I assume European aswell) it's the ' key, not the ` key. That is, one line above shift, two to the left of enter. It's annoying as I can't type anything like "don't", "can't", "I'll" or anything with ' in it, as it brings up the console.

I really don't get why Relic decided not to use the tilde key, which most FPS gamers actually refer to as the "console key".

Perhaps all the team like to speak to each other in "txt spch"

wow guys.... it IS the Tilde key... I've been trying to use the console since I got it. I knew it was the tilde key, because when a company puts in a console, it's always bound to the ~ key...

except one decides to use key codes instead of ascii codes and confusion ensues. yes, im guilty of that too and sometimes ends with "either try ^ and ~ and ' or just bind the frigging thing to whatever you like". hm, no.. i think it even seems like its always the same key code, but they are labelled differently, so usually i get away with "left of '1' and below 'esc'"

actually, my wh40.ini says "consoleKey = Grave".. now if only one would know if that ini is used and what the other keynames are...

While you have the console open try hitting TAB a few times and see what happens. :D

Also, the single player game looks to have some interesting twists in it. :wise:
