I was wondering how many 40k players there were amongst you all that doesnt actually have many, if any 40k players they know in their area (and that dont have a local GW store or gaming club).

The only 40k players i know around here (that i KNOW) consist of a Tau player with about 700pts (who my Daemonhunter's Grey Knights butchered and lost only 4 models), and a Black Templar Space Marine army with about 500pts tops (and hes the friend of the Tau player, i dont even really know him! THATS how much i love 40k!!!).

Are there any other 40k players in this situation? Why do you still collect it if so?

Lastly, anyone out there around Melbourne? (Anyone that lives in Australia will know where that is).

Vancouver's got a really nice indy TT games store, with around 6 good size gaming tables, 6x4, i think. It's run by some really nice people, and there are more TT players (WFB, 40K, Warmachine) than I can count, or even have met. This fall, however, when I head to college, I'll be near the famous Momma's Boyz, out in Moscow Idaho. So I'm Golden :bandit:

Well, there are three stores in my town where gaming is actuall very common every saturday.... although one closed down cuz the owner was dealing weed and X *chuckle*. I have a fellow gamer in my roommate as well as a couple others in my apartment complex. I, myself have a few armies so I can also provide for those who play but don't have models of their own. I'd say there are at least 30 regular gamers in the area, probably more who jsut don't play at the stores on the weekends.

Rogue Trader tourney on the 21st! woohoo.

I play Eldar, Orks, and Nids, and my brother plays World Eaters and Death Wing. In our subdivision we have a Dark Eldar player (2500 pts), a Daemon Hunter player (2000 pts), a Blood Angels player (1500 pts) and a Necron player (2000). There are alot of other gamers going to our high school, and some who have already graduated. The owner of our local gaming store is a vet, and has every army including Harlequins (I think he got rid of the Squats). He doesn't paint much though :D .
I think we have a few dozen people in the area, but not all of them play regularly.

I guess I am lucky to have a sizable amount of players in my general area.
Most of the players were schoolmates, or mates from other schools (when we started).
That time when we started (10 years ago! omg!) we were still a bunch of high school kids scrounging up little bit cash for our miniatures.

Now we're all a bunch of working old foggies, but the gaming community still exists. Except now our TOTAL army sizes are about the 3000-4000 point range :D

Anyway, i got stuff to do so i'll check back and see how this threads going later.

In Wichita, I've met a bunch of WFB and 40k players through the local comic store, which is also our gaming store.

If ever in Wichita visit A.G.E.N.T.S of Comics!

Before that, though, it's just me with some Dwarves, my friend with Wood Elves and Dark Elves and soon Vampire Counts, and my other friend with Chaos.
Demonhunters for me, Nids for that guy, and chaos and necrons for the last guy.

Around here it seems that its mostly rule bastrard kids... not to fun playing with. I miss my old gaming gang. all grown adults. Games are much more fun then.

And i was the Only SM player:-) and the one and only BT player:-) here it seems that every little kid is either Is playing BT or Necrons.

Nut closest player i think is 5 minutes away, gaming club around 10 minutes and 15 minutes to the local GW store.

I'm about 15 minutes from a comic store where i play every saturday. Then my friend within walking distance has a gaming table in his basement and a Grey Knight army, along with 2 brothers that play Orks and Wych Cult.

I have, um, lots of toy soldiers (15-20+k points). I guess I should find something else to spend my money on...

But, yeah. Plently of gamers in my local (Brisbane, Australia) area. Including a fair few friends.
