Mélée Dreads are completely underestimated... buy a few at an orbital relay and drop them into the ememy base when you attack and you'll find they can happily tear apart anything that comes your way relatively fast. 3 can almost take a base by themselves - if your opponent has no anti-tank weapons :D

Underestimated? o_O People whine about them being overpowered alot because they can't think to get AV weapons and micro.. Anyway :D I use them every battle. A few minutes ago I beat the tutorial for the first time (due to the tutorial freeze, it's near impossible. It took me about 3+ hours >.>) I dropped 2 Melee dreads, a HF Dread, 2 squads of Termies and 1 Squad of Assault Termies on the poor eldar base :D I got the perfect screenshot of a dread tossing a ranger away like a ragdoll :D

Underestimated? lol
That's why almost every pure annih you have the misfortune to play has triple SM's massing nothing BUT melee dreadnaughts :(
I think they must get some sort of CC bonus as well as they seem to evade a lot of rockets even with accuracy maxed out.

you try aiming a rocket launcher ;)
tank bustas are the bane of all vehicles so I don't worry, always have a couple of tooled out tank bustas

I mean compared to hitting other vehicles i.e. defilers with missiles dreads seem to be harder to hit / take less damage.

Melee 'naughts are damned handy in base attack... it's so funny to see three or four Melee dreads ripping a horde of orks apart.
Miy favourite move is the one where they pick the poor guy up and spin him around... the goriest move I've seen in the game, actually.

its even funnier when you do it to the enemy farseer.
btw does anyone actually use any of the upgrades on the melee dreds arms, or just leave them with 2 power arms?

With the flame upgrade the Dred burns the guy while he spins him.
FIre just makes everything better.

We know :p That's what everyone had been complaining about lately in the game :p

Having an un-upgraded Dreadnought (as in leaving it with 2 CC weapons) does nothing. The dread doesn't use his other hand in combat, and it doesn't give him any bonuses.

he does :P and he gets a bonus as you would think he would. It's very nasty.

Ive seen them do double hits.
Hits with one then with the other doing twice the damage.
though i do like to upgrade them to lascannons anyway.

Mine swing like mollies also, i've seen them do a killing blow and flame with the other hand...like, once or twice :D

I've never seen them use both arms o_O Hmm, I should watch closer. Oh ya, and the grab-and-torch manuever is just with his left arm, not the right and left.

The deads melee damage stats are the same before and after you replace one of the close comabt weapons. Also they don't hit with the 2nd weapon. I think they just put it there to look good :p.
Also i've noticed one the Ork kans upgrade to rokkit launcha they never seem to fire their big shoota.

Most Ork upgrades involve REPLACING weapons instead of adding them. It's really, really annoying. :D
