hey I've been getting a LOT of crashes to desktop. I put it down to a driver problem but now that I've got that fixed (finally) Its still happening and I'm wondering could it be my RAM? when I installed I got this message: "255 megabytes of free memory detected. Dawn of War requires 256 mb of memory to function correctly" or somethign like that. I have 256 (obviously) but I was wondering, Since I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel, could it be responsible for my crashes?

Probably. I got the same message and will be upgrading my RAM next week. Try reducing all the detail and shadows in the options until you get an upgrade! I did that and mine runs marginally faster.

However, I rarely crashed, it was just slow.

I've gotten two virtual memory are low problems while playing. Both occured on long games on large maps.

i got a similar problem. i run a program called Free ram in the background. the game runs fine but then suddenly crashes / Lags when i go look at at free ram it tells me the computer is useing anywhere from 75% or higher RAM resources. at one time it even went as far as to say the CPU was at 100% usage. all this information is confirmed by the task manager so its not just Freeram bugging up. Its a problem with my computer most likely (i have 512 MB of Ram) but its buggering up my Dawn of War experiance. and the crashes have been more frequent in DOW than anyother game ive played so far. i have the latest Drivers , Direct X and all that what not so what the heck could it possibly be?

i have 256 ram, no crashes, 1 minute or less loadtimes, and no slowdown cept in the really huge battles near the end of a game.
