Yes someone who goes by the name Shpongle has sucsesfully made a song with all the brain altering effects of DMT WITHOUT the nasty side effects: Divine Moments of Truth by Shpongle.

What are some other mind-altering songs you "expirimeted" with.

Yes I know I can't spell.

ROFLMFAO @ this.

This music you speak of is called "psychedelic trance" and is the only way to fly..... ;D other music just sounds so.... shallow in comparison.

"sphongle" is made up of two guys called Simon Posford (AKA Hallucinogen) and his friend Raja Ram.

Simon is a friend of my best mate Paul (DJ Kiff in the UK) and they've written some of this music together.

Kiff is the guy that I own a recording studio and small UK record label, Magnetic Records with.

/me nods smugly like a music-industry pro....

win.

<EDIT> oh, you want headbusting tracks? k. no probs, sir. This is all psychedelic trance:

Antix - flipped
alegria - we will dance
ndsa - fractal fuckers snorkel edit
sphere - symbiont.mp3
Tandu - The System
techno mix trance - good morning israel 2
x-dream - brain forest (will totally mash your brain up)
x-dream - fall out (dong edit)
wizzy noise - deeply unexpected-gem
Infernal Machine - The Loin Sleeps Tonight
esterian project - sonnenblumenkerne
intact instinct - multi mutoid mosquito miasma
Intact Instinct - When Woodworm Works Worse
intact instinct - Chicago Coins Cinema (Atmos Remix)
B.L.T. - Bass Tah
4D - Submerge (dont blame me if the intro to this one breaks your mind for good)
Astrix - Optical Vibes
Alien Project - Genetic Eyes
Alien Project - Magnetic
Hallucinogen - Angelic Particles
Tegma - X-Calibur

much more available on demand....

Hmmm so you attack my post pimping a song made by one of your friends?

Thnx for the list of songs. I was commenting more about the wierdness of the song than the tripyness.

Warning.

Never try DMT after playing 12 hours of Quake2 straight.

Trust me on this one

Brain Forest sounds like something from the WipeOut soundtrack. Sphongle is still weirder.

Does he mean mind altering songs as in songs to get stoned to?

Or songs that are just plain /psychedelic/weird/disturbing/etc.

Alien Project are dudes from my country. You should also try "Infested Mushroom" - Two Israelies with a great taste for Electronica Psychadelica!

Yes, they're Israeli, as are most psy-trance groups.

Gandalf, you're talking about "Infected Mushroom", not 'infested' mushroom. Close, but no cigar. Their "BP Empire" album is one of the greatest things evar.

Err...stupid typo.

Yeah, they own. I went to a couple of parties where they were doing they stuff.....absolutely fantastic.

You should add Double Dragon to that list of yours. Tactile is simply psychalicious.

BTW, I need your recommendation for some good chillouts. Getting tired of hearing the same stuff over and over again...:hmm:

Good chillouts:

Chicane:

No ordinary morning
Low Sun
Overture

Moby-Porcelin

Good chillout that isn't necessarily commercial-dance related like Chicane:

St. Germain:
Sure Thing
Pont Des Arts
Latin Note

Groove Armada:
Dusk, You & Me
At The River

Anything on the Cafe Del Mar compilations, Miinistry Of Sound "Chillout" mixes, Jean Michele Jarre's ambient techno, and of special note is anything by Ozric Tentacles.

On the "really fuck with your head" line, get a track called "submerge" by 4D . Depending on how your brain is wired, the first two minutes will either pass you by, or utterly FRY it to bits. You need GOOD speakers for this, turned LOUD. prefereably in the dark, with your eyes shut.

Jesus, this is the kind of stuff that shouldn't be listened to if you're gonna be doing heavy lifting.

Actually it's stuff that shouldn't be listened to at all and it's producers should be locked up in a damp cellar in Afghanistan. I wouldn't ever say that though cause that's just my worthless opinion.

Oops.. i did say it.

I was thinking towards something less...commercialized.

I have both St. Germain's albums, great stuff, but I need something new. I need something dubbish, leaning towards Ambient.

BTW, Panther, which Astral Projection track do you like the most?

TheBob

The Orb has some good dub. I don't know how commercialized you consider them.

hmmm. I'm outta my depth here (or wading in too shallow water, perhaps!). I'm too much of a full-on psyfreak to really have any sophisticated and trendy chillout music.

I like Ambient Dub in chillout rooms at parties, but it's just too relaxed for my tastes. :D

Gandalf, on the Astral Projection note, my favourite album is "In The Mix" on Phonokol. The first CD, "sundown" is the best.

Mahadeva 0wns, as does Electrostatic, Trance Dance and their instrumenal of Burning Up.

I find them a little too commercial sometimes, though.

<EDIT> Gadalf, "tactile" by Double Dragon 0wns so much it hurts. many thanks for that one! </EDIT>
