"Species Chick" Considered For Lead Role In Resident Evil 2 Movie

Dark Horizons reports that casting for the Resident Evil 2 movie is rumored to have begun. Possible actresses being considered include Gina Phillips (Jeepers Creepers) and Natasha Henstridge (Species, The Whole Nine Yards).
Apparently, Natasha will be cast as Jill Valentine, while Gina will play the role of Claire Redfield. Other reports say that Milla Jovovich and Eric Mabius will return from the first movie, with Milla still playing the role of Alice, and Eric taking on the new role of the Nemesis. The movie has yet to receive the green light so this is nothing more than a rumor for the moment. Stay tuned!
Update: Cinecon reports that the Resident Evil 2 movie has indeed been given the green light for production. "Talk about jumping the gun! Resident Evil 2: Nemesis has been greenlit, just one week before the first film goes into release. Paul Anderson will again write and direct the picture." says their site.
