Hey, I was surfing the warhammer website and came upon the "Interactive Army List" (Armies/Enemies of the Imperium). Im interested in finding more about the SM chapters and all. What does this Interactive Army List do? How do I get it? Is it free? Heres the site i went to...

you have to buy it. Its about $30 for each disk. There is two disks One for the Imperium (Spacemarines, Guard, Inquistion, etc) and then Enemies of the Imperium has (Eldar, Chaos, Necrons, nids, orcs, etc).

I own both and I recomend them to everyone. Quick and easy way to print out a army list and learn things about the different armies.

and also once u purchase them new armies are free downloads on the site!(which is rare for gW! hehe, i thought they would release witchhunters as a new disc, and other errata for like 20$ or soemthing, but they are FREE!) anyways its the best interface for 40k armies, and you can print htem out and they have everything u need to know (specail rules, etc.) def. worth it...tho i think the Armies of the Emperium one is a littlle shallow for what you get compared to the enemies one...

I wouldn't reccomend it. I've heard they're ok, but Armybuilder (http://www.wolflair.com/index.php?context=army_builder) is generally superior and supports multiple games. Not to mention you don't have to buy two of em.

The Forge is another free alternative, that also has Palm OS support. ;)

yeah its under the DoW featured site area. For Armies of the Imperium, you can get Withc Hunters, and 13th company!!! wowow!

And it hink enemies has the other thigns in the eye of terror codex...not so sure about that tho

I'm in love with IAL. Great interface and it's as official as it gets. I've never been a big fan of third-party army list programs due to inaccuracies and misinterpretations of the rules.

Like Jedi says, third party stuff can be open to interpretation causing inaccuracies. The drag and drop of IAL makes it virtually foolproof (although I'm sure there are some fools out there...). And you can keep track of battles.
