Okay. My Athlon 2200 with the GeForce 4 Ti4600 is still in it's packing, but judging by screenshots and the Penny Arcade rant today (lmao), I think this will be my "break in the new box" game.
Anybody have anything to say about it? Anybody play it?

I have heard only great things. And the "create your own RPG" aspect of it really sounds promising. As soon as I upgrade to a better system, it'll be one of the first in my cart.

I've got it.
It's impressive... but it feels Beta still.
The frame rate is ok, if you lower the view distance.
The NPC's share most of the same dialogue tree.
The NPC's are seemingly unaffected by time... you'll never see them in different places... they all seem to stand around indoors and out... rain or shine.
The combat system is extremely lacking and rather boring. It seems clunky so far... hopefully it will improve as I encounter more varied creatures.
The game is extremely wide open.... you can seemingly do anything in it... pick any skill tree you want.
Overall, it seems quite good... but don't buy the collectors edition... I don't think it's worth the extra money.

Uber: your machine or my machine? I'd think a 1.7 Athlon could handle it...
and how does the combat system work? Phased, turn, realtime?

The game is definitely still beta'ish. It has crashed on me several times while I try to buy/sell stuff. Also crashes every time I alt-tab to the desktop.

Then it's gonna be hell when my firewall kicks in when some nnob hacker tries anything funny.
And knowing my luck, it's gonna happen.
Does it have a 3rd person view mode? i can't play an RPG without a 3ps. It's not right.

its ok for the 3rd person mode, though it could use some help to tweak the graphics:
Can anyone tell me if it supports 16 bit color mode? i havent found its config file yet...
