Force Organisation question

Im new to 40k and have started space amrines but i dont have the codex coz its coming out in 2 months and stopped stocking on the old ones. Anyway, if ihave 2 tactical squads, does that take up both of my troop choices or they have to be different like 1 tactical squad and 1 scout squad. Just asking becasue im stumped. Same for the heavy support too.

No, your correct the 1st time.

2 different SM Tact Squads count as 2 Troops choice from your FOC.

SM codex comes out something like Oct6th. or in that week. So its like 3-4 weeks that it comes out, not 2 months. Thats North America, maybe world wide i dont know.

Longer for Aussies? Hope not. Anyway, there are units about that may allow you to have say have other units "attatched" to it (like Kroot, and Command Squads) or something like that, and if that is the case it will specifically say so. Of course, without the Codex, you can't tell if it DOES say that. You'll simply have to wait i'm afraid, or get a friend or something to help you out if they have a Space Marine Codex. You know...uh...there are 6 troops choices. Get a rulebook too. that will help.

So you can have 2 tact squads and one scout squad...

My thoughts exactly mr. Dante. Those two troop choises you mentioned are propably the COMPULSORY ones. Meaning you have to take at least them. You also have four more troop choises as an option, not to mention 3 elites, 3 fast attack and 3 heavy support.

The 4th. edition rulebook is not that bad of an investment, besides the rules, you get a lot of little helpful materiel and lots of nice pictures to go around with.

Thanx, i know there are more troop choices but i was just asking for the compulsary ones, coz once i get that i get everything. GW say the codex is coming out on nov. the 3rd. I hope its much sooner
