Tau rank ceremony

Hey, I'm writing a story for my Tau commander. It's pretty involved, and I need to know at least the basics of the rank ceremony after a trial by fire. I wish I could check the game, but the only person who has it is on vacation, and also our library has no 40k books. anyone have any idea how the ritual works? Is it anything like the talisera? sorry on spelling that, BTW.

its never explained in either the game or the book. i guess that means you can make it whatever way you want it :D

The Trial by Fire is when a fire warrior in training survives his first major battle to upgrade to a Fire Warrior.

Hes asking if theres any sort of ritual associated passing a trial by fire like with knife bonding, and if so what it is, not what a trial by fire is.

I'd assume it'd be some sort of ceremony including his new fire warrior squad and his commander. The specifics are up to you though I guess. Perhaps the new fire warrior's blood is mixed with theirs and burnt to symbolise them becoming one unit together. Perhaps the new fire warrior is annoited with blood from each of his new squad members. Perhaps they all gather around a campfire and tell stories of their own trials. Perhaps...but you get the idea :)

well the basic ranks you can get by looking at the book right? for example you have the basic firewarrior then the sergeant (shoas??) then the elite dudes are the battle suit dudes right? so u got some ranks, but ive never heard of anything past that.

I belive the codex said they have a Trial every 4 years, and if they survive, they are awarded with a new rank, until shas'o or death. It also mentioned that a shas'o can undergo another Trial, and retire to a government body, if I remember correctly.

But the onyl info i can offer is inferred from a picture at the fire warrior site where a older looking tau has a knife scaring the chest of a younger looking one.

yeah...fire warrior book was worse then the game.
