Thanks all, the suggestions were perfect.
Focused on getting ms up and full and built the fleet around her.
Dominated, now I will try more, smarter AI and hopefully a real person down the road.
I'll keep my eyes open for 6.0
Have a good one!

AI is stupid nothing compares to beating real person that uses other tactics than just throwing all he has at you

AI in Complex mod is easy to beat. Playing Vaygr its no problem to beat two or even three teamed AI opponents on expert level.
Hey,
first of all, great mod. The second mod I ever got for HW2 (I got modernisation first)
Anyway, what's happening with this September release I keep reading about? Is it coming soon? I have been checking the Homeworld2Complex website fervently every day, sometimes even twice or three times a day, just waiting for the release of Complex 6.
Does anyone know whether the AI will be made better in this version. In my games they tend to just wait around, building battlecruisers, waiting for me to make a move. It strikes me that even after reaching the higher stages of development (battlecruisers) they should still build fighters, corvettes, frigates, and destroyers, rather than just spamming the production of battlecruisers. Unfortunately, a fleet of massed battlecruisers is too easy to do. the officer and crew requirements for a battlecruiser are just too low to make it worth only building one or two. And with the current AI, if you don't spam BC's, then you will probably lose, because the AI DOES spam their BC's
I believe that the mod would be much better if:
a) The crew and officer requirements for capital ships were reviewed, so that capital ships required much more crew and officers than currently (the maximum crew ammount would need to be increased, of course, though the offficer cap could probably stay the same)
b) The AI was adjusted so that they built a more varied fleet.
I am not saying that the mod isn't good how it is, though these two changes would make the mod great, in my opinion. Nevertheless, the Complex team has done an amazing job. And besides, if these changes aren't made to Complex 6, perhaps I will learn to make them myself, though I don't really know how at the moment. Lol, think of that, a mod for a mod...
So, beghins, could you please give us a closer estimate at a release date? And perhaps comment on the changes I have mentioned.
Admiral Nelson
5th Sep 07, 7:06 PM
Let's see... 30 days - 5 days = 25 days left in September! What a surprise! Seriously, StwS, lay off for at least that long. Also remember that mods are time consuming projects and these people have (believe it or not) other demands on their time and effort.
Yeah, I know there is still heaps of time left in September, it was more to show my interest than to say that I am annoyed, or that I wan't him to hurry up. I understand that if the release is rushed, the product will not be as good. I was just hoping that beghins would disclose a release date for us...
No matter, I will wait, I have a couple of assignments I have to do for uni anyway... And besides, my new computer is out of action for the moment, and my old one has trouble running HW2...
StwS, did you try the expert level?
I think so, it has been a while since I played complex.
If I finish this ICT107 assignment early enough today, I will give it a shot (on expert that is)
Does expert make them more agressive?
Just curious though. Whenever I try to face multiple oponents who are in the same team, the game crashes while it loads. Does anyone else have this problem, can anyone suggest a solution to it?
DJ Die
6th Sep 07, 11:48 PM
expert AI is bit better but not very good anyway because it always will be AI
and please dont touch crew requirements of ships its fine as it is it takes long time to build BC anyway and you have to build weapons on it after that which takes time too
what are you PCs specs? maybe its too slow for it
Skandalos
7th Sep 07, 12:54 AM
Am I the only one who encounters lots of crashes? Every second game crashes to desktop.
I dont know ... but, for your interest, crashes have been reported. However (this is my view), they rarely occur, above all, during a game. On the other side, CsTD are a known issue, when loading a (saved) game. In that case a simple re-load (re-start) will solve the problem. All in all, no, there are not many CstD.
Your PC specs?
Komo'val
7th Sep 07, 6:53 AM
Actually it happened to me, but only once. One time out of what, over 100. A crash could occur when the virtual memory gets overloaded so tech specs would be good, as Babbo said.
DJ Die
7th Sep 07, 7:39 AM
we get crashed sometimes when starting MP games i suspect its because my friend has quite slow machine while my PC loads game very fast
Skandalos
7th Sep 07, 10:32 AM
I only play vs cpu (at the moment trying to beat a team of 4 AI expert opponents).
Specs: AMD 2500+ Barton Core, 1 Gig RAM, Win XP sp2, GF6800GT, Audigy2
Those crashes happen under arbritary circumstances. Pretty exactly 50% of all games crash.
So if no one else is having similar problems I guess it is my hardware.
beghins
7th Sep 07, 7:34 PM
A lot of my time has been spent to fix crash and to improve the game stability; Complex 6.0 at the moment is crash free and it run very fast, even with tons of ships (5.5 has a lot of crash and it run slow in many machines).
I'm ready to post a release date, I still think Complex 6.0 will be in September.
Thankx for updating this forum, I've few time for post and keep the forum updated, my silence only means that we're working.
Thanks for the note. I'm really looking forward to experiencing Number 6! However, I do that with mixed feelings ... cause I believe that you/beghins announced it as the last version of Complex.
P.S.: Skandalos, your PC hardware should be fine. (But you may have a look at your modules ... I mean those one of Windows ...)
Komo'val
8th Sep 07, 5:08 AM
Good to hear that. As Babbo as I have mixed feelings. on one side it's the awesomeness ofv6 that I can't wait to play, on the other the realization that this will be the last release of the complex series. But i think the first side outweighs the second.
what are you PCs specs? maybe its too slow for it
Intel Core2Duo E6850 3GHz 1333MHz FSB 4MB L2 Cache
2GB DDR-2 800 RAM
320MB nVIDIA GeForce 8800GTS
Windows Vista Business
HOWEVER. This computer isn't working at the moment due to PSU problems, so I am currently using a:
AMD Sempron 3000+ 1.8GHz
512MB DDR 400 RAM
(lol, this is pathetic I know) 128MB ATI Radeon 9200
Windows XP Professional
*sigh* I just need to save a bit longer so I can get a new PSU. ^_^
P.S. Thanks beghins for your update ^_^ much appreciated.

I am sorry if someone asked about this previously, but I am playing a bit and the ships actually explode (unintentionally) when the get too close to relics. Lost two frigates in 30 seconds due to that. Is it intentional and does it occur when the space get to crowded (was a bit of a tight spot) or what are the conditions?
DJ Die
8th Sep 07, 2:23 PM
StwS: that could be it i had simmilar problems on my Athlon 1700+ but on this PC(E6600,2GBram,GF7900GTX) it works just fine
HomeBoy:yeah i think collison detection is turned on and sometimes you loose ships because of it ive once lost MS because stupid BC of my enemy rammed it
Beghins:nice to hear you still work on mod and hope 6.0 will be even better than great 5.5
Skandalos
8th Sep 07, 4:16 PM
Really looking forward to 6.0.
@Babbo
What Windows modules do you have in mind that could cause such CTD?
@Skandalos: Those ones which are resident and usually occupy lots of memory: anti virus, parts of MS office or internet clients. Just go to your task manager and, step-by-step, kill questionable processes. Naturally, do that with a touch of caution :D. And check your services list and shut down senseless modules (google ...).
@StwS: PSUs aren't that expensive ... and your E6850 configuration will do an excellent job; currently, your 9200er is definitely the brake.
@Home: I don't know if that's intention, but it occurs occasionally, I never realized any system though (lost a BC without any visual hint ... totally healthy, no mines no considerable enemy ... just boom).
@DJ Die: "collision detection", please tell me about that feature, is it something a user can influence in some way or just a modder?
Komo'val
9th Sep 07, 4:24 AM
Some models may have too big collision boxes. I remember i lost a destroy near a megalith once. smaller collision boxes would do the trick (although I didn't see it happen in v5.0-5.5)

Hi just reinstalled Home world 2, and thought id see what mods where about, got this one unpacked it onto my HW2 Dir. The problem is when I add the -mod Complex55.big at the end of my Desktop short cut I get a error box telling me that the name specified in the target box is not valid, with it it works fine but no joy with it, any ideas?

No, use this:
"D:\Program Files\Sierra\Homeworld2\Bin\Release\Homeworld2.exe" -mod.Complex55.big
Note there is no space between ".exe" and the quotation mark, that's a forum hack to break up long strings.

Ok that works, but now it wont load the mod, I think ill do a fresh HW2 install then install the mod and try again.
Now have a fresh insall, and only the complex55.big file in my HW2 data folder ( with the game ones ) but still no joy the shortcut works but i still load up version 1.01 of normall HW2. :noway:

10th Sep 07, 3:15 AM
@DJ Die: "collision detection", please tell me about that feature, is it something a user can influence in some way or just a modder?
it means that ships can crash into each other or into other object like asteriods etc. ive seen it few times and it seems it messed up somehow in Complex(other mod with simmilar problemy is HW2 Advanced) this only affect some ships for some reason
Sajuuk333
10th Sep 07, 9:57 PM
it's good! the MS can ram into bigger ships and pop them up!:D:D:D
ummmm one question:What the hell is that shuttle? a huge, 600speed scoutship? or what?
Babbo
10th Sep 07, 11:27 PM
Thanks DJ and the shuttle appears just to be a placeholder, a ship with enhanced capabilities, possibly available in Ver.6.0.
DJ Die
11th Sep 07, 7:09 AM
yeah they said that Shuttle was implemented but they didint have any use for it yet i use it as faster scout
id be careful with ramming things its very easy to loose your own ship too we(me and friends) have lost several motherships to such attempts its good to ram it with BC as last resort but usualy we play so that rules forbid this its unfair after all
Grid111
12th Sep 07, 3:58 AM
i have a complatin about that i dont know if there is and updata that fixes this but all of my fighters like to ram into frigates and die and its really annoying it just seem like they ether dont turn quick enough or actual turn into the frigate and its really annoying when i just want to have some fun with the com and build alot of fighters but no thay all go weeee it the enemy ship
DJ Die
13th Sep 07, 8:32 AM
hmm i never had this problem but i have problem with explosion from large ships it always eradicates my bombers when they kill cap ship which sucks because that makes them useless
Sajuuk333
13th Sep 07, 10:35 PM
lol...I never build fighters...I make abuse of the AI and the general player's strategy and build frigates first, which make fighters go bye-bye and cap-ships farewell lol
Babbo
13th Sep 07, 11:08 PM
Sucking-antidote: systematically withdraw your fighters and let only the very last one have a final shot onto the cap-ship. Take it as challenge ...
DJ Die
14th Sep 07, 5:16 AM
rather that this "challenge" i simply build BCs and thats it only game i had bombers was when i had to use cloaked carrier with proximity sensors to find my friend who was hiding around map so i got bored and built maximum of bombers each of my carriers could carry
Admiral Nelson
14th Sep 07, 5:21 AM
Actually, in the early game I find that strikers are quite useful. Especially when the AI attacks begin to be only frigates. A bunch of upgraded bombers along with a bunch of corvettes will tear frigates to shreds, as long as they have proper heavy frigate support. They are also great vs destroyers, but the frigate escort gets wiped out.
Warbux
14th Sep 07, 7:03 AM
I only use interceptors to take out enemy scouts. As long as you keep the scouts at bay the frigates and fighters the enemy sends won't be as confident about heading straight for you. Usually this buys me a lot of time when beginning the game.
DJ Die
14th Sep 07, 9:37 AM
i just let my mothership to take care of anything AI throws at me while players usualy dont rush or loose
as for scouts wise players will always keep them on the move fighters will never catch them and AI scouts can be ignored
MS is quite capable on its own if properly upgraded and can take up to destroyer ship in size untill you got Heavy Ion cannon then its able to kill anything
DrunkEskimo
16th Sep 07, 3:08 AM
I decided that the most effective (although expensive) way to end the enemy's resourcing is by using the Juggernaut :P. 's funny, every resource collector in range goes "Pop." Especially effective against the AI. They don't seem to know what a Gravwell gen is.
DJ Die
16th Sep 07, 3:45 AM
well i never research it because against AI even destroyer will do such job and against player juggs are almost useless(at least after few games when everyone expects it) but yeah its funny especialy if you jump it into swarm of bombers and frigates
i think its much better to have kamikaze fighters then to have a suicidal capital class ship that barely does any damage; it's destroyed long before it ever reaches its target and is therefor useless. on the other hand, a swarm of kamikaze fighters would be more then enough to take out a BC
SmileyToaster
16th Sep 07, 6:59 PM
I think...m4v that you dont really understand what the juggernaut does. Its SUPPOSED to blow up...its an unarmed nuclear ship. And it does a LOT of damage.
But I do agree that the model could be put to better use...
I have a tactic I use sometimes, I build a really big wing of bombers or X-bombers, take out the hyperspace inhibitor (usually most human play with only one per protected area-space) and just jump in a couple of juggernauts. End game, or pretty close anyway. :-)
does anyone know when that 6.0 release date it
nope, but it should be soon... at least thats what i hope

Hey beghins Ive been reading these boards and playing complex since 3.5. just wanted to say AWSOME and i hope you continue to push the limits of this game after Complex 6.0. Maybe add a new race and somekind of planet type thing where u build subsytsems in it and it makes certain resources. Anyhow can barely wait. Thanks

Unfortunately Complex 6 is going to be the last version Beghins does, unless something changed in the last few months. I think he said it himself, that he's going to the take all the time he needs till he's satisfied with the mod and only then going to release it - cause the last version has to be perfect.
I too long for updates... or at least the Complex web could get updated, although a post is easier anyway. A simple what/where/how on the progress would suffice ;]
Been checking this place for the last four months, no actual end in sight ^^ but the stuff they have planned to put in v6 is keeping me going and I suppose it's well worth it.
i havnt played homeworld in a while, that way it will feel even better

26th Sep 07, 1:19 PM
I've been having some problems with complex 5.5. The multilancer corvettes among other ships doesn't do any damage, anyone know what's wrong?
vayger corvettes are kinda useless, so i just use a combo of frigs, fighters, and BC
this is pretty much the standard vayger offensive: assaultcrafts to take out bomber, lance fighters for corvettes, missile\artillery frigs damage their defense, and then 4 BC to finish them off.
if you do this correctly, you can take out anyone playing hiigaran in a matter of 15 min.
DJ Die
27th Sep 07, 3:13 AM
Gubbtjyv: if you take a look at its stats you can notice multilance vetts have 0damage so i think its mistake someone did or they havent decided yet what damage it should have
m4v i found storm vetts quite useful for raids against resoucing ops but otherwise i rarely use other ships than BCs

what you need to do is make sure the target of the new shortcut has is:

the " " is around all the text apart from the '-mod Complex55.big' part. this is annoyingly important i know, but hey! if id doesn't work now someone else who knows more about this stuff will have to help you.

You also must remember that these are ordinary people, doing extraordinary work. Shit happens, things come up. Maybe he fell and broke his leg or something, you don't know.
Regardless, he wouldn't lead us on purposely. So shut up and wait. Unless you are paying some kind of currency in exchange for a download(And I know your not), you have no right whatsoever to complain about the release date.
Coritani: Your command line edit should look something like this:"C:\Program Files\Sierra\Homeworld2\Bin\Release\Homeworld2.exe" -mod Complex55.big
Make sure the quotations are there, along with the space just before the dash. Make sure the Complex55.big file is in your Data folder. Then make sure you patched the game to 1.1 BEFORE installing complex.
If it still doesn't work, I'm sorry but I don't know what to do.

In complex 5.5, I'm continuously getting a crash and I have no idea of what is causing it.
I don't know if you can call it good timing, but I literally saved it a second or 2 before the crash occurs each and every time.
Since I'm on a mac, it may have some bearing on the error(s) produced. If you want a copy of the saved game, I can send that as well.

There are even more things Complex cannot supply you with: for instance it doesnt reward you with 10.000 bucks when you win, and there even aint any sweet girls who give you them kisses you deserve (and neither a grim dominatrix in case you lose). Boy how am I not enjoying this mod ...

Sorry for our delay, but works for Comlex 6.0 are so time expensive and I have no time to update the web site and the forum too.
At the moment I`m wainting for the last model and I`ve really ultimated all the new features, only the final test remain to do.
To do this, I need someone to help me to complete the final test, it will start at the end of the next week (11/17/07) and it will continue for about one week.
I think Complex 6.0 is just perfectly working, but before the official release I want to be sure of it, so I need the help of people not involved in the development.
Write to me at beghins@homeworld2complex.com, you will receive a direct link for the beta. I ask you to play Complex for 2-3 days, single player or with your friends, then I need a relation.
I need fan of the mod.

This mod sounds great, just downloaded 5.5 yesterday.
I haven't used Homeworld 2 for over a year and was looking for new mods to put life back into the game.
Came across this one and thought excellent, I dont use skirmish mode except for testing mods to see what's what.
My enjoyment is the single player campaign, well I was really looking forward to this mod but when I loaded the game It was like a smack in the mouth, no single player campaign option, that ruined it straight away for me.
I won't be using this unless you make it compatible with the campaign, so any chance of this happening in the near future please.
Making a mod working and balanced in the standard single player campaign is rather a pain in the ass. I would say its easier to make some new missions, so why don't you if its so important to you?

I just hope there will be more 'useful' units. Stations look nice, but they're weak points. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan. But Complex needs more combat units, especially cap ships.
Reise
16th Nov 07, 1:30 PM
I would have to agree with you maybe make like an uber station like the vaygar outpost? I think it is buildable to be used as a replacement for the mothership but make it uber strong... Also stations should be bigger and stronger (defensively) also it would be nice to have more fighters and MANY more specialized capitals ships. Although I think that may kill the game. anyways Thanks beghins I have been an uber fan since 4.0 I LOVE THIS GAME (mod is too light a word)

16th Nov 07, 7:30 PM
nah HW2 is not about stationary objects but about ships while Starwars styled canal flights may look nice they are not made for this game i think Complex was quite fine in 5.5 but there is always room for improvement and if my hopes will be fullfilled 6.0 should give new life to HW2 and since Beghins did only good things until now i dont think we will be dissapointed

and once again grate job beghins ty for makeing homeworld better

Ha oh my avatar?
Its probably in the concept art for the game.
Try looking here (http://www.hwshots.homeworldtrinity.org/main.php?g2_itemId=5442) for it and some other concept art stuff
But I wish beghins and the beta testers lots of luck! Hopefully you guys find 6.0 in great running condition. Thanks for all your hard work beghins.
And p.s. callitri Nexus is fairly well known around these forums...but probably the wrong place to discuss it.

Hopefully someone responds to this but I'm having trouble with the installation of the mod. I have extracted the mod to the Release folder but from that point on I am totally lost with what to do next. I really don't know what shortcut that the installation is talking about. If anyone could help me with very easy instructions to follow so I can get this mod to play.
XcaliberCrusade
19th Nov 07, 5:10 PM
-If you don't have a shortcut icon (the HW2 icon probably on your desktop with the little white box with the arrow in it) for homeworld 2 then create one.
-right click the shortcut
-under the target path, add a space AFTER the last quotation mark and type -mod MODName.big, where modname is the name of the mod's .big file. (I'm not sure what it is in this instance)
-Now whenever you open the game from that shortcut, it will run the mod. This way you can have several mods installed and simply choose the icon of the mod... (and they can have different names and pictures as you see fit.

Complex needs more combat units, especially cap ships. you could make them yourself and add them into the mod.
If you don't know how to model the ships using 3D programs [like me] then become a Hoddler [a modeler who Hods ships together] which is the only way that I can build ships.
I think the reason that Complex may not have all the ships that we would like to have is because its trying to keep a certain level of strategy.
Originally the game only gives you like 1 destroyer instead of 2 or 3 for each side which is really enough for the gameplay.
In my Firestorm mod I have 3 types of destroyers,Standard,Heavy Destroyer and Ballistic Missile.
I put them in,not for a strategic purpose but just for a fun factor.
I really like to sometimes just sit back and watch the AI battle itself.
I also like to see lots of different ships and may continue to add more ships to the mod.
where can u get 3d programs to create your own ships, casue id like to get my hands on that

well, the week of testing should have ended a week or so ago, so v6 should have been out also, fact that it's not probably means something, this raises questions like: where there bugs found and you're back at the "drawing board"? has the testing stopped? or is it continuing? etc. you cant throw phrases like in the few last beghins's posts about the mod being on the verge of release, sorta promiss a week or so and not even throw the smallest bit of info of what the hell is going on :P please update or someone might commit suicide :D and thanks for your work ;]

I just got the complex 5.5 mod, I have a question. In the main menu, there is a tab that takes me to ships descriptions but after a few ships it states that the rest can be viewed in the older version of complex. Is there a way for me to get those ships to show without having to downgrade my mod. Can I combine those files from the old version into the complex 5.5 version and if so how? thnx

Still a bit of patience, works are a lot, the release will pay your long waiting, I'm sure.
At the moment I'm waiting for a model (that it's completed at least at 90%) from Paul, the 3D artist of Complex, and this is the last task of the project.
Then, I will contact testers, only 3 days are needed for a full test, because over these days I've tested too much Complex 6.0.

I had this idea for an Ultra Complex Mod.
Would it be possible to keep all the current upgrades of 5.5 plus setup the mod where you have to upgrade everything in the game ?
For example, none of the ships have weapons when they are built.
No pulsars,no guns,destroyers have no turrets...nothing.
You have to upgrade EVERYTHING.
that might be neat for a destroyer, custumize what kind of cannons it has, so you can have some regular one and then on the rear turrent build and ion cannon

I figure that this would be fun for those who like to play long drawn out games.
i love taking my time, but even in complex sometimes i feel rushed, my play stye in most games is build a strong economy and then attack with more troops then they ever could

Have you used the marine frigate to infiltrate the mining base ? You can only occupy the mining base with resource collectors after successful infiltration.
its labeled as an enemy so you have to cpture it, when you do though get ready for every enemy to attack the base, be sure you have a few battlecruisers gaurding it

I just downloaded Complex 5.5 and followed the directions to install it. I try playing it and it comes up with a "Conflict with disk emulator software detected" error. Has anyone else ended up with this error? I have the english version, patched and am running windows vista home premium.
magnus1114
6th Jan 08, 10:09 PM
Conflict with disk emulator software detected usually happens when some variant of SecuROM detects that you've got Daemontools emulating the disk in question.
As homeworld 2 is neither a SecuROM supporting product, nor something you'd be running an ISO for anyways, the error is likely unrelated.
That all said, HAVE you set up your Complex 5.5 shortcut properly?
If you haven't, it might be trying to do something wierd, but I wouldn't be able to tell you, as I've no experience with windows vista.

And... what I can say for beginning... looks amazing, tons of options, years, resources, Mothership reports almost like it did in first mission of HW (drives online... and so on, technical stuff), it took a moment to build that ship on screen - research station, 1 trip of my harvesters. More impressions later ;)

Hi,
Well, I'm a very new player to Homeworld serie (I just order the two games today) and I'm really amazed by the community work. All I see is fabulous, excellent work everyone.
I've just a little interrogation: is this mod only for multiplayer or also for solo?
Kind Regards,
both, no campaign though, only skirmish and online.

Have changed memory..Checked and double checked all hardware. uninstalled game and reinstalled . Updated drivers

Its just inconsistancies with some stuff somewhere within the 5.5 Complex big file. Most people do get CTD's with this mod, I know I do.
The best thing to do is wait til this Saturday for 6.0
Hopefully all the kinks will be worked out

You may try to uninstall that Magic thing, Chronox.

found out what the problem was, the 1.1 patch is what is causing the problem. i reinstalled it and it worked fine. i installed the patch and i get the error. :banghead:

Complex 6.0 out this Sunday 01/13/08
The mod introduces a lot of new ships, in order to avoid complaints after the release the two ships below have been enclosed in Complex 6.0 without the consensus of the respective creators cause I never had replies to my sent mails.
So if someone has to claim something that's the moment, in this case I will take a few time to modify those ships otherwise I assume the consensus reached.
Thanks, Beghins.

Chronox: I've had the very same problem as you since I installed Vista (HP 32 bit). I don't have any virtual drives or similar software installed (actually never installed one) but I get the Securom error message if I use the original exe and CD. Just use a no CD fixed exe and enjoy.

Search for the no CD fix (I don't know if it is allowed to post links related to these kind of things, guess not, so you will have to google it), and replace the original exe (rename it to hw2.exe_old or something) with it. Of course the game must be previously installed, patched, and, if your HW2 copy is not an english one (like mine), the english language file copied into the right installation folder (see the complex support page). You can use the shortcut created during the installation with the needed command line changes to run the mod.
Good luck.

Correct, you cannot post a link to a no CD fix; in this case it is a valid suggestion.

Chronox: that's a weird error. Be sure that it is the right fix for the 1.1 version and first try to start the original game, without mods. If still doesn't work try reinstalling.
I play without problems with the following command line linked to the no-CD:
C:\Games\Sierra\Homeworld2\Bin\Release\Homeworld2.exe -w 1680 -h 1050 -mod Complex55.big
No need for administrator privileges or XP compatibility mode under Vista.
The only issue is some error message as the game menu appears telling me that I need to update the graphic drivers for my GTX, but I just ignore it and the game plays just fine.

I've been playing the Player VS Cpu for some hours now and I am stuck. Something seems to have changed with the honor system and I can't get past Ensign. I have destroyed everything that the enemy throws at me (with 5 carefully placed, fully upgraded Tulwars), I have my research tree pretty much maxed out (Engineering Level Research) but I still can't get the necessary honor to get a single crew quarters on the crew station. That means I am stuck at 175 crew, as is the enemy who are also on 0 Honor (I scanned them).
This is quite frustrating as I all the lovely new technology is just out of reach. The description of the honor system on the webpage is to research new tech, build modules and fight. I have been doing all of the above and the honor is still at 0 after 3 hours or more.
Any help?

You're speaking about problems never happen on my PC and to beta testers; two options, may be I've uploaded the wrong file or may be Complex 6.0 doesn't work on Mac.
Honor must increase in any case. Someone other has experienced the same problem on Windows?
Nassru

Pravus, you should just do a custom game and mess with the options available. That might solve the problems you are experiencing.

i have a big bug in multiplayer with my brother with the version 6.0.
connection lost apres some secondes/minutes. (out of sync.)
we using hamachi and make a virtual lan because TCP/IP not working, it doesn't much matter which heberge or game option
complex 5.5 works perfectly.
(sorry for my english)
ps: sniper frigate higaaran make no dammage at missile frigate vaigr (bug ?)
Hello Beghins and Crew!
We - that means an friend of mine and me - encountered the same bug someone mentioned before. We get an "Out of sync" on side of the none-hosting player:
Facts:
* team of 2xHumans (1xHiig, 1xVaygr) v.s. team of 2xAI (1xHiig, 1xVaygr)
* "Out of sync" after a few minutes
* tried different maps - same error
* also tried switching the hosting machines - same error
* also tried Direct Connection instead of LAN-game - same error
* also tried to switch of firewalls, etc.... - same problem
* without AI (PvP) - no problem
* Complex55 is also installed (separatly started!) - no problems
* both machines WinXP - but I guess this makes no difference
* we didn't played it via Internet, but using a 100MBit LAN
Any suggestions?
But thank you very much anyway for this mod! We're both big fans of this one, since we first tried it! So keep up the good work!
Greetings,
BGMF
Gotcha
14th Jan 08, 10:55 AM
Downloaded v6.0 this afternoon.
Got one weird "bug" (and stopped playing afterwards) : I had a Light carrier early in the game. Got destroyed for no reason (was close to Mothership, no ennemy around). But at the same time I had 10 fighters attacking ennemy resource collectors and fighters, and my light carrier seems to have suffered because my flight of fighters got destroyed, eventually. Sucks big time, because it also means a lower crew "capacity".
Also got a CTD after trying to view (focus on) a "Salvager".
Looks like 6.01 is alreday underway, so I guess I'll just wait until a few things get fixed.
The gallery is gone, too. Too bad.

ive played few games no bugs so far but ive got some other problems:
vortex has no research aviable which means it will become obsolete really fast as BCs are way better
also AI is totaly hopeless while i had fully upgraded battlestation jumping to his MS he still was strugling to get some collectors(no res station or such)
otherwise its great mod

Overall, very nice work on v6.0 Complex Team, looks like it will be awesome after a few bug fixes:
I just had a weird problem.. My mothership seemed to destroy itself just after building a patcher. No enemies around (that I could see) and didn't seem to be taking any hits from anywhere. It died VERY rapidly... maybe 20 seconds from completely OK to gone. This sounds like the light carrier issue above. I had a light carrier myself (which was fine!)

Thanks for your response, Beghins. I have tried many different types of player vs CPU games, even starting with 15 honor points (which doesn't appear, you still start with 0 and fail to gain any).
Please don't disregard the Mac version, as Mac users we don't have many great games on our machine, so Complex is a saving grace. I can imagine there are quite a few Mac users of Complex.
I am more than happy to provide any Mac support you may need.
Version 6 is incredibly stable on the Mac, its just the lack of honor that is causing a problem. I played for 3 hours plus last night without a single crash bug.
The only time a ship destroyed itself was when I tested out the crew escape pod option on a light carrier, which then self destructed as it warned it would do.
ok heres how it went everthing was going good and then i got attacked, ok but i got owened and i quit, i was overwelmed by dozens of fighters and bombers and i oly had 3 fighters. so i build a barracks to increase by pop limit and nothing happened, it was completed and my limit stayed the same. in fact it sarted going down as i lost more units and i still coulnt build any units. anyone else have this proplem
