Installshield not working

Is there a way to manually istall the game? I can't get Installshield working, had the same problem w/ doom 3 but they had a way to manually install. I went to the installshield website, downloaded all of the latest updates and everything and it is not working, if anyone can help, please do!

How long did you wait?

Some people had 5-10 minute wait times for the demo install before it started working.

If you could also post your system specs that'd be helpful.

When it begins to copy the files, it takes 1 or 2 minutes before it just closes with no error messages or anything, does that everytime and i tried so much i memerized the stupid cd key. My comp is a Athlon 64 3000+, 1 gig of ram (pc 3500), 9700pro, plenty of power to run the game, let alone the install program.

Sounds like you have other issues aside from install shield not working.

I had the demo installed and I couln't install the full game until I removed the demo. Unfortunatly I didn't write down the error message I got.

Close out of other programs, it could interfere with the install.

Uninstall SP2, install the game, install sp2 again :-/ my only solution i found until now.

I believe Doom 3 was out before SP2, unless he just got it recently.

Again, I don't believe this is an SP2 problem. I believe it's a problem with Install Shield, or the windows installer.

One thing to consider is that the installer may be trying to communicate with an outside server, and if a firewall (like the one that gets turned on in SP2's install) or some other software is blocking it.

I have my firewall turned off on XP as I have another solution.

No Doom 3 was released after SP2 ... SP2 have windows installer 3.0, SP1a has Installer 2.0. So i would say, on some system specs with installer 3.0 there is a problem with the installation. If someone have a solution to get installer 2.0 back it would be cool for me ;)

Yes, but SP2 wasn't available for download from windows update until just recently (it was for manual download earlier). I for example didn't see it there until last week, yet I've had doom3 for a while.

Hello everyone.

Zippu, i have the exact same problem with Install Shield.
Most games installs until almost finished then installation crashes to desktop without any errorcode.
Just wondering if you have figured it out by now? Or if we could find some similarity between our computers and get a lead that way?
