What do you guys do for anti-tank with eldar? Just build a lot of brightlance platforms? To me fire prisms seem better for knocking infantry around, and WL are usually in CC anyway, while Haywires or even ganging with the Seer Council do too little damage... so it seems like it's the only option.

Hopefully a hypothetic expansion will include Fire Dragons or Wraithguard so the Eldar get some nice heavy specialized anti-armor in line with the rest of their army.

Brightlance = win! Set on overwatch with a couple Webways and you'll be FINE.

I am eager to try the brightlanc out , i have never really used them. I usually get a few wraithlords early to take care of any preds or defilers I come across early in the game. With Eldar I concentrate on getting an early advantage so i won't have to face mass predators or any other nasty things like that. Gotta keep those SM from teching , because i still havent developed a late game plan to counter termies and LR's , any suggestions against those would be appreciated.

Yeah, chaos you really have to get an advantage on fast. ~4+ Brightlance platforms will help with Defilers.

After trying the brightlance i would have to agree this is your best anti tank option . I used to counter a few defilers early. Later in the game a gathered 8 of them and backdoored my CSM enemy. This was my counter for the push he launched with 3 or 4 squads of obliterators , and defilers. Due to the speed of those units he was not able to return to protect his base. I destroyed the base before the obliterators could make it back , and the brightlance group made quick work of the defilers that made it back in time.

Brightlance for the win

Brightlances are so effective that it almost makes no sense to get any other unit that takes vehicle cap. They start to become effective with 3 or 4 but a large group of them 10 > will decimate almost anything and max group of them 20 (yes I know 30 is max with Avatar) is next to impossible to stop. If nothing else use them in mass to break enemy units, 1 salvo from 20 BL's will break almost any units moral.

Depending on the player (ork, sm, chaos) and if they like vehicles or not, I would focus more on marshaling your inf. But, get 2 groups of warp spyders and research their anti-tank bomb thing. Does a nice amount of damage, and recharges relatively fast. Give you a little advantage instead of having nothing to counter the tanks.

Certainly BL platforms will do for anything the eldar have, but I would like to have Fire Dragons out, as it would add the eldar 'specialization' have considering their troops.
But then 5-6 BL will just about massacre anything vehicle or building.

D-cannons not bad either...and if infantry units get in the way there goes their morale!

Heh, I wish wraithlords got the D-Cannon option like for TT Harlequins.

Fire Dragons would be a nice option, largely b/c I love them on table top I suppose, ripping them around in a wave serpent

Mindwar vs Hero and Terminators

Fire Prism, WarpSpider Haywire, BrightLance, Wraithlord vs Vehicles

Reapers vs Infantry

usually 4-5 squads of Reapers, 3 Prisms, 1 Seer Council, 1 Avatar, 2 WraithLords, several Lances will dominate and destroy any force/base.

The hardest bit i find, is right at the start, the enemy always seems to get the upper hand at controlling points, by force or numeracy...

i always build at least 10 brightlance platforms, and then depending on my enemy (if he uses vehicles but not mass producing them) then i'll get at least 3 wraithlords. i keep brightlances grouped together by themselves and wraithlords set to versatile stance this way they can take full advantage of their shoulder mounted brightlances and also beat up whoever is stupid enough to come up close. i normally dont bother with Fire Prisms because 1. they don't listen to you which means you have to spend extra effort to just get them into the right place which is distracting 2. cost a lot. i'd rather build two or three brightlances. i can see where fire prisms are useful, but i don't incorporate them into my army list.

this might be a bit off topic but WHAT in the world is wrong w/ those stupid Fire prisms? They say its anti-tank but all i've seen it do is create a HUGE explosion and do about dittly squat dmg..... Falcons on the other hand is suppose to have an anti tank option but all i c is starcannon upgrade.
on a side note i've known falcons to be able to take on Preads on the TT WH but in DoW they get LESS hp than a damn bright lance plat...

The starcannon upgrade is an anti infantry weapon, fireprisms are fantastic against buildings and ok against vehicles but unless u micro them alot (they are fragile) I don't consider them an efficient anti vehicle option. BL plats and Eldritch Storm is the best way to deal with vehicles as eldar.

try haywire grens. death spinner=anti infantry haywire grens=anti building and vehicle
