View Full Version : Updating my motherboard drivers

In order to try and stop 40k from crashing, I'm hoping that updating my motherboard driver will help. I found the URL to download it from, but during the directions it seems to make it necessary to use a floppy disk drive, which I do not possess (just a writeable cd/dvd drive). Anyone have any ideas?

I'm on step 5

Thanks. Maybe if I get this sorted out, 40k will stop crashing. It'll bite if not, though =O

Make yourself a bootable CD.

Arg. I got it working and installed the updated drivers and BIOS for my motherboard, but to no avail. I have tried everything: defragging, installing SP2, reformatting my HD/reinstalling DoW, etc etc etc. I suspect that if you could give me any possible things to try, I've tried them!

So, I guess my request in fixing this problem isn't ideas, but rather for a patch- clearly, alot of Athlon motherboards and ATI cards are having some sort of crash problems. If you go to any forum on the internet talking about this game, you'll see the same thing. So I guess I am asking, is there any possibility of a patch for this issue in the near future? Because if not, sadly I forsee myself returning this game for a refund.

=(

k... Here's a new one...

Try disabling the secondary output for your monitor in the device manager.

Good idea- I gave it a try, but unfortunately it still is crashing during every skirmish/online game.

Any ideas you come across are appreciated.
