Well I think i generally start how every eldar starts, 2 guards 2 bonesingers, i research FoF hella early because i'm obsessed with micro (been playin RTS since WC1) usually i don't even build my council until i find out who i'm playing against, if it's against chaos now i make reapers instead of council because possessed marines rip my council to
shreds

usually i go , guard , guard, bone, bone, FoF, - or bone, bone, guard, guard,FoF if i want to get some early power. after that i usually get a power gen, aspect, and wait on my soulstone until i find out what race they are, if they're anything but chaos i go for my soulstone for my council :D

sweet thats sounds like a way better plan than i had(i had no plan)...plus your plan is adaptable which is probably why you win! that and your h4ckz0r micro skillz!

yeah i said h4ckz0r... spelling with numbers retro style! :banned:

hehe, i'm not sure what i am on the board now, my game name is Blur
i was like 9th when i left for work but i'm sure i got knocked down a few rungs in the past 8 hours or so

really eldar to me seem like humans in warcraft 3, they can't fight without constant recon, because they're units are so specialized.

Like if i'm playing against rines and i have all warp spiders i'm screwed because they're gonna do jack, just as if i spent all my cash on reapers if i was playing against orks.

Eldar is really a race that's like "oh you built that, so i'll build this" rather than just building randomly.

Which is what i really like about em

I think its pretty standard to get your two guardians and bonesingers and then wait for seeing your opponants....I'm an eldar tabletop player so I like to micro them so I have fun with that...if i'm playing chaos or marines I'll get a reaper stone, if I'm playing orks I get warp spiders, move forward and establish a bit of a foreward base with some troops hiding in the webway to jump out into CC such as my seer council....

I'm big on hit and run strikes using teleportation and jumping falcons so once I know what I'm up against my build order will change a fair bit depending on what it seems that they are doing

I would say a method similar to that is fine - although as much as I am loathe to say it I love rangers on the table so I always have some of them :)

Here is my build combo along with unit combo:

Warpgate (err, building with banshees and farseer :D) one plasma generator, then build listening posts on strat points. When you get the guard squads, don't reinforce them yet, save the req for 2 squads of banshees. With two guard and banshees, you should pretty much be able to repel any attackers, and then counterattack (if you're ballsy) :werd:

Interesting, so a number of people go 3 bonesingers total . . . gonna try that- I usually go 2 guard, 1 bone, 1 guard, FoF which has been helpful in capturing additional resources, and providing just one more entangle. This said, the extra guardian squad is also useful in case scouting goes poorly against good players, it sucks to be down a guardian squad early when the other player tries a rush.
I must be missing something cause I end up with 2 bonesingers total, but never really use more than one for most of the game. I assume there is much stacking of bonesingers to complete buildings?

The number of bonesingers i build depends on the game type, for example in take and hold i usually warp my initial singer straight too a crit point to build some mines, then proceed to build a second singer followed by a number of guardian squads and a farseer. Once thats done i will tend tolo build at least one or more further BS they are very cheap after all.

I usually do Gaurdian, Bonesonger, gaurdian, bonesinger. I then get banshees as i think they are very good for stopping heavy weapon fire from the other races.
And if i can get an avatar - I'll rush to get it asking for recources off my teamate :)
Then go forth and kick ass!

I usually find that the key (to any race) is to keep building units while your fighting so you dont lose out on the time it takes to fight.
As you sometimes come out of a fight and forget to build while your micromanaging ^^

All sounded like they might work...so i will probably be using a combo of them all.

Yeah, I've been trying out differen things with the computer. It may not be like a human but that thing is freaking efficient at getting a lot of units out, it's the ultimate micro manager. But you can just exit out and restart when something messes up, instead of leaving the game, finding somebody else, etc.

this is my Seer Council + Farseer rush build order:

Bonesinger builds Aspect Portal
Que 1 Bonesinger, 2 guard squads, FoF
2nd Bonesinger builds Power Generator
1st guard squad set rally point to capture nearest req
2nd guard set rally point to the 2nd nearest req point
Que Farseer when Aspect Portal pops
Build Soul Shrine
Build a 2nd power generator when the first is finished
FoF with your two guard squads to the nearest critical point
when Soul Shrine pops, Que Seer Council, rally them to your farseer
FoF farseer to the crit point with your guards
reinforce guard squads and seer council as needed

Hi there, a little bit late but here I am :) sorry up in front for my messed up english, i am german , so here is my build order, nearly alike the others but a bit different :
1. Que 2 Guards, 1 Bonesinger, FoF
2. 1st Bonesinger build aspect
3. Send out the guards for capturing
4. Que Banshee + Farseer when aspect is ready
5. build power generator
6. (build warp gate) or let the bone's buils LP's
7. Soul Shrine
8. :blah:
9. :blah:
XX. Shred him up and let him die painfully

so it's like the other ones. I am not such a good player (think so) but I would advice to build afap the 2 Guardians, why? Easy, capturing points :P The warp gate is a bit to soon, but i use it later for teleporting back to base and in early/mid to produce my brightlances. The Banshee before the Council is simple, i don't like to be surprised from any bull**** and in early game my little gal's own everything.

:werd:

1st Bonesinger goes to make a [B][A] aspect portal.
Build [B] Bonesinger, [G] Guardian Squad, [G] Guardian Squad, [B] Bonesinger, and [F] Fleet of Foot.
2nd Bonesinger makes a [B][P] power plant.
1st Guardian Squad goes for closest req point.
2st Guardian Squad goes for the other close req point.
1st & 2nd Bonesinger makes [B][R] the soul shrine.
3rd Bonesinger comes out shortly after and is rallied to the soul shrine.

STFN:

Does that third bonesinger really make much of a difference? Seems to me that by the time my Shrine and Portal are up really all I can use the singers for is to build LP, Gateways, etc... but that you will need your resources to be building those critical first units (FS, SC, DR/HB/WS) and to be doing your first research: Entangle, etc. Consequently, even with two, I am building LPs just fast enough to keep them both busy and a third would seem overkill....Do you really find that the third BS improves your resource haul fast enough to make back his cost or does he end up chilling/just helping the other 2 BS build LPs?

Otherwise, excellent order, it is practically identical to mine except that I shift it up a little bit for some maps (putting FoF after one guardian squad is out if the resource points are really spread out).

Now that you said it... I don't even know why I even make the third bonesinger... At the beginning I'm always in need of a bit more cash and by removing that 3rd bonesinger from my build order, I might get some more things done. Thanks for the information, I'll try out a new build order when I can.

-Bonesinger 1- Start Power Generator

-Queue up a)Bonsesinger b)Guardian c)Guardian

-When 2nd bonesinger is complete, help complete Power Generator (you may be asking why, well, since you get 50 resources when you complete a power generator or listenting post, it is always advisable to work your bonesingers on one project at a time to get that lump some payment to spend earlier and immediarely, rather then work on 2 projects simultaneously)
-When Power Generator is complete, build Aspect portal using both bonesingers

-When Guardians are done, use Guardians to cap closest points (duh ;))

-When Aspect Portal is Complete, start on soul shrine using both builders
-Build Far Seer from Aspect Portal

-Guardians move to capture new points
-When Soul Shrine is done, start on Seer Council
-Both Builders start on Listening Post at whatever your favorite cap point is.

-Far Seer should be done, go looking for trouble with her, ideally in the direction your Guardians are expanding in. Do not be affraid to run away from a Hero with squad backup, just make sure you give them a nice dose of war mind and psychic storm as you depart.

-Build another Listening post with Bonesingers, and continue putting up listening posts and power generators when you can.

-Council Should be done: IMPORTANT! It is better to reserach Conceal first before adding additional council members to the squad, CONCEAL is what makes your Seer Council bad ass, without it they aren't so good. The seer council should head off in the direction of the Far Seer

-If you don't have the power to get Conceal (because you built plasma grenades or whatever the situation dictated) use bonesingers to power build generators, you need to get CONCEAL. No really, let me stress this part, if you dont have CONCEAL, chances are you'll come back here and be posting some n00b "I dont see what is wrong with the seer council" remark after getting your morale broken and then getting owned.

What to do now? Well, depends what is going on, because your enemy will have a plan that will influence your actions from now on.

Some Goals and plans I use
-1 Guardian Squad should continue to run around capping points, 1 Guardian squad should slowly be brought towards full strength as you also increase the size of your council, while both are following the seer council and far seer around, once again looking for trouble. At this point I would like to point out that above the door of every elite Guardian squad barracks is a sign that says USE YOUR PLASMA GRENADES, DAMNIT!!!!!

-when you pin the enemy in his base, it is a good time to teleport the pair of bonesingers in and build a few Webways a close(but safe) distance to the action so you can start spamming anti-grav platforms at the enemy, Why? Because 1)you need Webways anyways to increase unit caps, 2)you can be building multiple grav platforms simulatenously (since webways are so cheap and quick to build compared to regular factories), giving you waves of respetable firepower at regular intervals, which beats out slowly building 1 squad of aspect warriors at at time.

If you hear the Words "You are a lame faggot rusher!" before you opponent disconnects 5 minutes into the game, pat yourself on the back, you are now teh awesome!

I agree with everybodys tactics. But one thing to consider with ANY race. If it is a qucik-star (instant resources) then build more bonesingers then guards because bones can build shrines, gates, and turrets fast to defend againest those 2marine+1FC rushes. With instant mins it gives you time to get everything fast, most importantly shroud and teleport building. :)
