ok i know i'm not the only one whose experienced this error as ive seen a few people refer to it so i hope this helps.
This is more of a prevention than a cure, bassically i noticed that, on my machine anyway, i only get the error if i RETAKE the SP (the one that u have to hold for 2 minutes to get the bridge door open) from the eldar. So i was able to work around the error by just taking the sp then making sure i hold it agaisnt the eldar.
If they take it and i take it back i get the error. Coupled with this, if i reload my save prior to the error i get the scar error first time i capture the sp. Thus a game restart is needed if you screw up and lose the sp.
Hope this fixes a few people up.
