blocky letters / black minimap

Eveytime i start DOW some of the text appears in blocky shapes that are unreadable and the letteing boxs i can read are covered in black rectangles when i place my cursor over them!
In game i cant see my raday as it appears totally black and also the top and botton of my screen are covere by a black band ewhich reduces what i can see on the battlefeild please someone help!!

Please post your warnings.log and a dxdiag dump (Start > Run, type DXDIAG, click Save All Information and paste it here).

Most likely you are running old drivers for your video card - go to http://www.nvidia.com or http://www.ati.com (depending on your video card) and install the very latest available (61.77 for NVidia, 4.9 for ATI).

My friend had this problem, I got him to update his video drivers, and that fixed it.
