So fenris = mystik? Is that just 2 seperate profiles that you created on your dow and is that allowed or will they start deleting multiple accounts?

Also how do you know who is ranked what? does the actual game give people rank or are you doing it from some unofficial ranking system?

So how are these rankings done that you go by? is it something incorporated into the game or just some website you all use?

You play automatch online. You gain points when you win, and lose them when you lose. Ranking can be found here (http://www.dawnofwargame.com/ladder/homepage.php)

Its relics own ladder, and it automatically updates when you play automatch.

Well that was a nice change from the usual eldar cheese, but look what happened...eheh...I guess if he had made reapers instead of spiders it would have been different.

My friend has used over 300 different accounts on battle.net for wc3.

if he had used reapers, i would have just set my marines on asault mode and gone into melee combat with them or used cultists on them. all depends on micro =]

Right now there is a big bug that if you put a unit on Stand Ground you can't force them into CC so the Dark Reapers would of raped your marines regardless of what you would of done.

Yeah apparently it's not a bug, but a ridiculous 'feature.' Hooray, now heavy weapons can never be tied up.

But if you think about it, would you go into cc if you were carrying a heavy weapon? no, you'd prolly stand there and shoot away with ur heavy weapon (trying as much as possible to avoid hitting ur friends)

If we were talking about the real world, soldiers are taught to whip out the knives or club people with their rifles. If you're unfortunate to be carrying an m16, carbine or a similar rifle, you have to use a knife, since the rifle will break if you hit someone with it.

In real life, you cannot use a rifle or MG in close quarters, you will die as it's a simple matter of whacking the rifle out of the way. Pistols are efefctive, but have limited ammunition.

As for what soldiers are taught close combat, Spec ops anyway, 2 words, front kick. IF THEY EVER HAVE TO MELEE mission is compromised and they are advised against it EVER; at least this is how the SEALs are taught. Dont use "real life" to justify a game, especially if you are wrong, an mp5 user (well trained) can and will shoot you from a foot away. The stand grond and shoot thing is compromised largely by 2 things some heavy weapons still do a bit too much damage (HB will still do more than a SM's melee attack) and flamers auto hit. I like the stand ground feature, not to fire at melee range but because it is quite a bit easier to disengage and retreat behind a near by firing line.

And FYI a pistol is no more effective at close range than an MP5, hell even the M4 is very usable at close range.
