I been reading alot about how much the seer council is used and how they are too uber. I myself am an Eldar player and i can tell you i have hardly ever used the council and i'm doing fine :). I was SC rushed once, but thanks to micro between WS and 2 pairs of Guards it was all good. I say broaden your strats and stop complaining you naughty eldar boys and girls.

I have been working on my 1v1 strategies with Eldar and trying real hard to scout early and build the appropriate army to counter the other player but man it is tough. It is so much harder with Eldar since most of their units are infantry they get eaten by other races basic heavy inf.

I can handle Orks ok without the Council and I can deal with Eldar but SM and Chaos give me real problems unless I use the SC.

If you have some good advice in 1v1 ladders lets hear it. Let us in on your great secrets.
