DAMN! you kept on buying and buying and buying eh ;)

Some questions first :
1. How many points are you aiming for ?
2. Do you want a tournament list of a fun list ?

The Despoiler
2nd Oct 04, 8:10 AM
I only play for 2 hours a week and so far its just for fun. I will want to set up a tounament later though. So far I only have 2 opponents but I'm recruiting more to join the club so everyone can play. My current opponents have space marines and Imp guard armoured company.
I'm aiming for about 2500-3000 but easily modifiable to less.

Are you allowed OPO characters? And what sort of army do you like to field?

Imp

Well against the armored comp you could always take the deamon prince as your lord, Give him undevided mark of chaos and call them Iron Warriors.

You already have the 9 obliterators so you could take them and see the look on his face when you deep strike them arround the battle feild to shoot the hell out of his armor. :D

Merforga

I don't see why you would have 9 obliterators considering the number of obliterator squads is capped at 1.

Huzzah! I won a 1000pt. battle against the armoured company guy (space marines didn't show up). Next week I'll be fighting either 'nids or daemon hunters. Any tactics for fighting either of these armies?

Obliterator squads are actuly 1-3, and most armys have a 0-1 choice, as in they can only have 0 or 1 squad per army. Now Iron Warriors dont have the 0-1 limit. So they can have the regular 3 elete choices and make em Obliterator squads of 3 guys per squad. Then becuse its and Elete choice, they can still have 3 Heavy choices to make there army Uber Cheese. :smash: :smash: :smash:

and...?

I have only one squad of obliterators with 2 models in it. Why are you bothering to point that out? Those guys that posted earlier mistook my terminators for obliterators. Anyone who actually owns the chaos codex knows this already

Nids or daemonhunters hmmm.

Shoot the crap out of them, then charge into close combat on your terms and mop anything up your shooting didn't finish, works for me!

1000 Points then, do a want me 2 help u with a list again. I would be m,ore than happy to help take down anything with imperial labelled on it. Especially "Gay knights" lol!

I think there are quite a few obvious differences between nators and obliterators. In 1000 points take either or DP or lieutenant, 2 oblits(Not the nators cus they suck up alot of points) bout 2 shooty support squads, 2 HTH and 1 pr 2 shooty pieces. You should do fine.

Actually I dunno how many points will be played. Unless I get a better carry case for my army my selection is more limited. I can fit this many into my case:

Daemon prince
9 Terminators
10 Plague marines
20 Berzerkers
10 man havoc squad
10 normal CSMs
& 5 of my Bikers

+scenery (noone else ever brings any)
Glue

I try and fit any more in there and they get crushed. I might get a GW case tomorrow if I can't blag my dad's old toolcase off him.

First things first.

What do your terminators have i.e. Powerfists, chainfists, autocannons, heavy flamers, combi-meltas, etc.

Same with your plague marines any assault weapons, aspiring champions. Same with your Berzerkers.

What heavy weapons do your havocs and chaos marine squads have, also let me know of they have any assault weapons

and with your bikers as well what do they have???

Need more info dude!

Cheers

K then, here we go. (only one opponent actually insists on wysiwyg and he can be beaten down so model equipment isn't really a problem)

I bought a couple more bikers and I am now the owner of a 6-man raptor squad (2 meltaguns, asp. champ. w/ lightning claws & a dude with a plasma pistol replacing his bolt pistol.)

My bikers themselves consist of 8 models, one of which is an asp. champ. with a plasma pistol, 1 guy has a meltagun, another a flamer and another has a plasma gun.

Termies are usually given combi-meltas & chainfists but this is dependant on points restrictions and opposing army (sometimes heavy flamer, reaper autocannon, power fists, etc.)

Plague marines have an asp. champ. with plague sword and a guy with a meltagun but otherwise just CCWs & boltguns (true grit is cool)

Berzerkers have 2 guys w/ plasma pistols & an asp. champ on juggernaught w/ axe of Khorne & plasma pistol (devastating!)

Havocs have 2 heavy bolters, autocannon & missile launcher + an asp. champ. with power fist & plasma pistol

CSMs are standard except 1 guy has a plasma gun

BTW I whooped ass last Wednesday I won against allied marines and Daemonhunters!

OK. So my birthday yielded £100 I'm wondering how much should be spent on what (if anything) I may be getting a large space marine army soon which i can use as red corsairs allies (I already have a couple of red corsairs units)

The Despoiler

Also next week I'm fighting 1000 points of 'Nids. I've neverplayed against nids before so what would be a good strategy?

MarkedbyChaos
4th Nov 04, 12:59 AM
all right.... Nids....
they don't have and armor, the toughest they get is 6, there are no inv. saves in the army....

they are a hoard army. and assaulty as all heck. do not count on keeping them away cause they are fast on foot.

Recomends... using what you have...

Demagogue... 102pts (Lieutenant, Crozy, boltpistol, personal Icon, frags.)

1 x Possessed 132pts (6 guys) nothing fancy...

2 x Bloodletters 260 pts (5 guys)

3 x CSM 246pts (5 guys) 2x flamer 3x BP & CCW

2 x Havocs 260 pts (5 guys) 4x Heavy bolter

42 modles

Woah actually that list isnt too shabby.

PsychoSmurf
4th Nov 04, 12:19 PM
i would suggest large amounts of normal csm's so that your shots will rip through their rans, and a couple of havok squads with missile launchers to blast things apart... maybe a squad of raptors or something....

i just know most of the chaos stuff, but dont obliterators pick from a variety of weapons each turn? if so take some of those

ChanImmortal
4th Nov 04, 1:28 PM
Yes Obliterators are good, but MarkedChaos has a good enough list right now so dont worry.

MarkedbyChaos
4th Nov 04, 2:18 PM
at 70 points a model, a max of 3 per army (unless Iron Wariors) they wont be bringing enough bullets for all the nids that will be coming his way (nore enough HTH, though they will excell in it) for the points you can bring alot mor Wounds(dudes), Bullets, HTH attacks with basic guys

1 obliterater = 70 points
5 Chaos Space Marines = 70 points

feel free to adjust
maybe get rid of all the HTH guys and make them all Bolter guys... lots of Bullets befor assault begins... against Nids and Orks i love bringing havoc squads of 8 guys with 4 flamers and and assaulty

the blood letters will pay for themselves against Nids that arnt Gaunts... and even against gaunts they will tear them apart.

Missle Launchers are almost wasted against Nids, a big bullet is going to do a wound and they are not going to save, and the blast is going to get two or three modles at best. heavy bolter is going to lay down 3 bullets that are going to kill any gaunt outright and with three bullets on a TMC it is going to do something... and it is cheaper.

i have had experiance playing Nids with opponents bringing MLs against me and watched them in frustration trying to do anything against me with them. I would recomend MLs against most anything else though...

OK I have 40 mins to write up an army list then. I'm gonna try out Marked's list & if that makes me lose my undefeated streak I will hold him personally responsible.

lol seriously though that army along with some lucky dice rolling should get me through this I think. He's always boasting about his hive tyrant & tyrant guard and his horde of gaunts & genestealers. I don't think he has anything heavy like biovores or carnifexes.

Heres to putting faith in the power of chaos.

The Despoiler
10th Nov 04, 9:04 AM
There we have it. I lost my first game...I'm so sad :(

In the final turn I was left with two men with heavy bolters verses a zoanthrope in range to use its warp blast, a carnifex and a single base of rippers within assault range. I withstood the rippers and the zoanthrope but the carnifex sliced them both apart.

PsychoSmurf
10th Nov 04, 10:30 AM
okay...
yeah...
carnifexes will do that to you... they are really bad about stuff like that...
um... why did you take close combat stuff against nids again? why not buttloads of heavy firepower, like a dreadnought (yeah, it can cc too, i geuss) or more havoks.....

MarkedbyChaos
10th Nov 04, 6:44 PM
Psycho you are sorta right in your thinking. but here is the thing.... nids are going to get into assault. just the way it is so if you can (and chaos can make a supurb effort at it) bring a little counter assault against them. and while he could have exchenged 1 5 man unit of bloodletters for another havoc squad with HBs having nothing to counter his assault would be just as good/bad. i like bloodleters cause they can tear a carny or a tryant or a unit of guants with the same fervor. where as once the havocs are assaulted they loose all effectiveness....

Despoiler... don't supose you could post a Battle report of some kind could you? so to see where things went wrong

I could try but I'd have to gather my thoughts first. :duck:
