I was gonna pimp jumpgate, but it sucks...i mean, not even EverCrack comes close to describing the utter pathetic uselessness of anyone still playing on 3DO's jumpgate servers.

The Elitist Snob attitude has been around since...well, since forever, but to actually have a dev team not present REASONABLE information of their game engine is dishonourable in the extreme...

They suck. I hope i never see a reference to http://www.netdevil.com again.

Its DD's newest game, got almsot all the present members playing it, and its a ton of fun.

its free right now, but should turn pay in a few weeks. Still in beta, but it is very solid, and the developers are almost always online so you can ask them questions. If you need someone to show you the ropes, look for me [DD]Warpath81, and I'll teach ya how to play. Do the tut. first, but the game is very complex, and you won't understand anything unless you get someone to explain things to you.

I tried it for 2 weeks...I REALLY TRIED!!...but its just as bad as Jumpgate.

Ur flying around doing God knows what God knows where...well, come to think about it, i don't even think God knows what this game is about.

It's so damn annoying to fly 100000000 miles without seeing any action whatsoever.
You just see glimpses of ships somewhere far away. And while u get loadsa.. "PLANET X IS UNDER ATTACK" and "THEIR ATTACKING ME" etc.. its always "over" before u get there.

My opinion...to big, to few things to do.

frst, GS is already hosting MF's ARM. That's since I gave MF access to the FTP. Muffy, if you can't access the FTP do tell me, heck, we see each other everyday in IRC.

Once work slacks off, remind me and we'll have a better way of organising the ARM.

Darkspace is actually a lot more complex then you might think. When I first played the game, I thought the same exact thing. Then a guy spent some time showing me around, telling me how everything really worked. How the planet management worked, how the resrouces and building worked, how dropping worked, how the nav map really worked...once someone shows you how everything fits together, it is an amazing game. I played it the first time and stopped after a few minutes. Played it the second time, got someone to show me how it works, and have been playing it ever since, non-stop.

The tut. sucks by the way. There are some newbie tuts out there, that actually explain how the game works, but I don't have links handy. I'll try to get them if your interested, but trust me, there is more than enough to do, and if you want to find action, you just have to know how to look for it, there is always a battle going on.

If you want, I wouldn't mind taking some time and showing you around. I'm on almost every night, handle is [DD]Warpath81, and usually there is DD chat room up in-game where some of us hang out. Come by and I'll show you the ropes, or ask some of the other DD's that have been playing it a bit, I'm sure they wouldn't mind if they weren't busy, or they can tell you where to find me, so I can help. :)

It really is a great game, you just have to understand how it all works.

sigh...they're all so banal, it's really quite sad. Anyways, i estimate they have a week or two before i make my analysis of my first MMOG experience...It's been fascinating, especially learning about "Entitlement"

Dictionary definition of Elitism (http://www.bartleby.com/61/96/E0089600.html) uses the word "Entitlement" in it...how fascinating i picked the same word. hmmmmmmm. curiouser and curiouser.

Anyways, after spending almost a full year playing JG i've come to realize how banal and cliched the elitists are like. no wonder ND are so braindead, their best players are the most boring retards imaginable. "nerf this nerf that...waaaa...im holding my breath until ND fixes my ship"

Anyways, i'd be interesting in checking out DarkSpace in a few weeks, dude. thx for the offer, i'll be sure to look you up later next month. (though i'm hoping for a miracle on ND street. heh. ah well, whatever happens it sure wasn't boring for me *g*)
