1 - Where can the editor be found?
The map editor is a part of the released Mod Tools.
Refer to this official topic: http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=47321
2 - The editor screen looks silly!
You need to turn off SKY and FOG effects to see and edit the map properly in the editor.
Press CTRL+K and CTRL+F to toggle those.
Then you will need to adjust fog and sky values accordingly to your map if you want a different look in game.
3 - The editor can't save my map!
You NEED to create some folders:
$dow_folder\W40k\Data\Scenarios\MP for multiplayer/Skirmish maps
$dow_folder\W40k\Data\Scenarios\SP for single player maps.
4 - I've saved my map, what should I do to share it with others?
Put map files (yourmapname.sgb, yourmapname.tga, yourmapname_icon.tga, yourmapname_mm.tga) in a compressed file. Then you will need to host it on the internet, and post a message in this forum with the link to your file.
You can attach a screenshot to let other people see your map before downloading it.
Suggestion: why not use one topic to show ALL your maps instead of creating a new one for every map? You can edit your first message to include the new created maps.
Suggestion: if you don't know how/where to host you map, refer to: http://dawnofwar.filefront.com/info/SubmitFiles
If you send an email with a properly file they will host it for you: read istructions carefully.
5 - How do I get screenshots of my map?
* Open the editor, toggle FOG and SKY (see FAQ N.2) then press the STAMP key in your keyboard.
* Open Microsoft PAINT, go to Edit/Paste, then go to File -> Save As and save the picture as JPEG.
Repeat this for every screenshot you want to take.
You can then host it in the forum and/or include it in your map archive.
You can also use ImageShack (www.imageshack.us) to host it in the internet.
6 - I've downloaded a map, now what should i do to use it?
You NEED to create some folders:
$dow_folder\W40k\Data\Scenarios\MP for multiplayer/Skirmish maps
$dow_folder\W40k\Data\Scenarios\SP for single player maps.
Then copy the map files in the correct folder.
Usually you will have one .sgb file and 3 to 5 .tga files for every MP map.
Your map will now show in game with the others maps.
7 - That map looks silly!
After downloading and installing, this is what you see on screen?
http://img37.exs.cx/img37/5745/map-error.th.jpg (http://img37.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img37&image=map-error.jpg)
You forgot to extract the .tga files, or the map creator forgot to include those in the archive.
The .TGA files are NEEDED to play the map as it is intended.
8 - What about playing multiplayer with those maps?
Dawn of War actually will NOT download/upload automatically a map if a player don't have it.
All players NEED to download and INSTALL the EXACT SAME VERSION of the map you're going to play, otherwise it won't work.
Hopefully this function will be included in a future patch, as a developer stated.
9 - What about MODS and Single player campaigns?
MODS are related to the "Adeptus Modificatus" forum (http://forums.relicnews.com/forumdisplay.php?f=96), not this one.
