Doesn't concern me. Pity, because those Thanksgiving roast dinners look bloody tasty.

Us'uns here in Kanader cerebrated a month ago. I still belch contentedly on occasion.

We actually took the family into the camp that weekend for a last visit of the year, and because cooking poultry could be quite challenging to do in the wood-burning stove without driving the temperature of the camp to the point where my hair would melt, my turkey came in the form of a sandwich. S'ok, though - we brought porterhouse steaks. Couldn't figure out how to stuff them, so we stuffed ourselves instead.

Why can't we have thanksgiving twice, once for oursleves and the second so we don't confuse the Americans. Any reason is a good reason for turkey. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

You guys suck. I had some cold pizza for dinner, while you are all eating your turkeys. I'm now jealous. You may send me turkey to try and cheer me up.

why are you proud of the fact that america was essentially created today/yesterday a couple hundred years ago? Look what it lead to!!!

But it's always good to see such foul situations bring the best out of man and woman and child kind...maybe even in turtkykind??? :dolt:

Thanksgiving has nothing to do with the creation of the United States, in fact it's celebrated in Canada (although a month earlier). The whole point was that the first settlers were celebrating God's great bounty which provided for them in this new land. In more modern times, it has become secularized as just a realization of how lucjy we are to live so well. It's also a tradition, and traditions are hard to kill, whatever their original purpose.

Plus, this one has great food, which makes it even harder to kill.

The last time I was anywhere near a turkey was when I got three consecutive strikes at my local bowling alley.

Happy thanksgiving my sort-of-fellow-Americans!! (I need to ask my Dad whether we celebrated it or not when we lived in Phoenix. I was only 4.)

The purpose of Thanksgiving is to set aside some time to count your blessings. This often simply comes in the form of getting some time off from work to hang out with your family. This is not a politics thread. Can it.
