I really saw some good ideas from some of these kids, although i hope to be a game designer one day. my two cents are really this, the tidian empire is dead, Never agian to bother anbody, the republic is still pretty weak...not a big threat, all those other uburly powerful races would make a good unstopable enemy, but why would they attack who ever, and how do i, or any body know its going to be about the Kushian, thats also a little worn out...try a new race, like Earth it self, US as a space race, with all the political, power, and money struggles, it make a good race we can identife with, wel because there us. We'd make a good allie, but if you really think about it, we make a better Bad Guy. But do include all the races in the plot, and please look at the possiablitie a new race...key word NEW.

Thats my thing on races, but as for weapons, make them realistic, turrets move and track targets, and so on, not a pole sticking out of a box, and then you saw the beam go sideways, look at the multibeam friget, great concept, bad effects, put little rotating turrets were the beams come out of, so it looks like its acctually shooting, and not pissing. Same with big turrets, thing rotatable, so you can see it, like battle ship guns, rotatable. and emphize more into damage dabree from the ships.

Add actual planet's and not back round pictures, it really ruined Both HW, and HW:C, do what star trek games did, add the planet and its gravity affects.

During cataclysm you saw battle debre during the movie things, try adding that to the real game, like if a crusier blows up, make some parts of its still floating around, and when it blows up certian parts of it fly off in all derections, and if one of these parts were to hit a fighter or a carrier bay bye bye fighter's in bay and in flight...

which brings me to another point percession missile hits, if you can get a missile inside of a carrier bay, the stuff thats stored in there should be destroyed, or damaged, and criples the hanger it self. same goes for engine ports, and windows.

well these are the gest of my ideas and it turned out to be 10 cents enstead of 2, but please look at the ideas, they, take a look at Westwood's earth and beyond... really good concepts in that game.

so please give me some feed back on what you thing... good or bad, this coming form the consumer and not the producer...hint hint...

If your trying to make a point you will instantly turn off a large portion of this forum by referring to the members who around mid twenties to thirties as "kids"

If you are trying to show your maturity by belittiling others or have inadvertantly used the term I beleive you should review your posts first before hitting the submit button, and possibly reflect on what you have to say and how it will be received.

MDOG, in the homeworld universe, EARTH does not exist.

During cataclysm you saw battle debre during the movie things, try adding that to the real game

Didn't homeworld have the debris? Other than the command ships blowing up in pieces, I havent seen any debris from any ship in cataclysm.

Hey I have no problem with bringing in a new race, but getting rid of the old races...and bringing in the US?? Um, no...you see, if homeworld had completely new races, no kushan/taiidan/bentusi/etc. and it brought in the US, it wouldnt be homeworld now would it?

Well thx for the 2 cents...now here's ur refund.

Play nice folks. Poor spelling does not equal low intelligence.

Well he did call us all kids.

MDOG: I'm sorry, I can't identify with the US. I'm Canadian. Kushan should (and will) definitely be the center of HW2's story.

There are already turrets that track and all that, and if you can draw a parallel between the firing style of a spinal mount Ion Cannon and pissing, I think you should go see a doctor .

I agree about the debris, however, and sort of agree about planets, though I don't think anything ruined HW, and if anything did it would be the similarity of hte two sides, not the lack of in-game modelled planets and gravity effects.

P.S. : Multi-Beam Frigates were done perfectly. They are my favourite ship from HW. I love the way they fire

I don't think earth should come into the equation in HW2. A lot of the charm of playing the origional game was the players being able to relate to the outasts, bring in an earth race and that all goes to pot.

Anyway, this all took place a long time ago in a galaxy far far away remember?

I do like the idea of realistic damage areas on ships and stuff, as it was in HW1 in a very basic form it'll probably get carried over to 2. Debris also sounds cool, as it would make a big tactical difference in cap ship brawls. Plus the dreilict ships hanging around would give a nice 'tragic warfare' look. Planets may be kind of hard to do well, but a mission to blow up a planet sure would be cool!

I'm also a multi beam fan, they spin and flail and crash into things!

I never looked at it quite that way before. An MBF is like a rabid rottweiller with a 4 year old.

Grrrr baby, very grrrr. :D
