I'm sorry to post a thread about this, but I'm having a wicky hard time with this -- I spent four hours in Homeworld last night taking screenshots (or thinking I was) and then I couldn't find any. I used the Print Screen button, which just about every game I've ever played uses. What key are you supposed to use? And where does it put the screenshots? Many thanks! Again, sorry to take up a thread for this, but I couldn't find anything on the Homeworld fan sites about this.

What? WHAT?? You mean I was sitting there for FOUR HOURS hitting the button NEXT to the right one? If my head survives the serious wall-bashing it's about to recieve, I'll give that one a try... *sigh* Thanks again.

Yeah, he's right, it's scroll lock. If you hit print screen it takes a snapshot of whatever is currently on your screen. That image is on your clipboard.

When you hit Scroll Lock a screenshot is clicked and stored in the "screenshots" folder in your homeworld directory.

Just like I did, "shota01" till "shota99" all black... :(
But that was untill I changed the...

No, let's not spoil the fun, let's see if he can find out himself...

Now not ALL my SS's came out black, but I would have to say about a 1/4 of them did.

come on, Spread the knowledge. Let us now what be it. Resolution? Folder Name? Game Settings? GIVE ME THE POWER OF KNOWLEDGE!!! :)

hmmm, I dont take screenies much but I think it has something to do with what 3d system thingy you are using. Direct3d or OpenGL... if you get blackies, switch em, maybe thatll work.

If you still cannot fix the screen shot problem, if they're black anyway you could;

Hit Print Screen
Hit Alt then Tab (should minimize homeworld)
Open a paint program (ms paint, photoshop, photoimpact, ect)
Paste
save.

For me and a friend a solution for the "black-shota" was quickly found. Seemed that we both used the same graphics card (a TNT Vanta) wich gave perfect image but a black screenshot.

I found the sollution in one of the topics here...
"OPEN-GL"

I don't like the graphics as much as my "Hardware" accelaration but the shot worked out ok.

Just swicth to open-gl and it'll probably work...
