Symptoms: The text in the main menu appears as a series of black blocks and is completely unreadable.
Solutions: As a workaround, you can press alt+tab to get back to windows, then alt+tab back into the game again, which should fix the bug for that game.
The more permanent solution is to update your graphics drivers, which you should do anyhow. Grab the latest drivers for your ATI Radeon cards here (http://www.ati.com) and for your NVIDIA GeForce here (http://www.nvidia.com).
