Thank you, OrdoMalleus for contacting me and reviving myself, and the Dawn of Faith mod proposal. I've been in touch with coffeedryad and she's equally pleased. Currently, all we have done and proposed are listed on the Dawn of Faith (dead project) page here...

As you can see, we developed an outline for tech-tree, started some models, and we were waiting for the Toolset to arrive. However, coffeedryad cannot use the toolset on Win98 at all, and I didn't have the time to devote to it like I should have.

If you wish to participate, or already are participating, sound off for yourself. Same standards for DoF as the DH mod.

Manyly, coffeedryad and I wanted to feature Sororitas (Sisters of Battle) first, then add in Inquisitiors, Henchmen, Repentias, Acro-Flaggelants (Archies), Penitent Engines (Penguins) Zealots (Frothing Maniacs!) Stormtroopers, and IG help aaaalll later on. Since DH mod has done the Stormies and the IG helpers, plus Inquisitorial things, reinventing the wheel isn't needed. Those can be stuffed in the DoF mod later. First.. it's making the Sisters a working force.

Ordo.. yer gonna be able to juggle both Daemon and WitchHunters/Sisters of Battle? Tis alot of work *although* your staff seems quite large. :) You do have "people power" behind you. I'd be interested what units you'll be including with the WH/SoB (ie. Infantry: Canoness, Confessors, Missionaries, Priests, Preacher, Redemptionists, Sister Superior (Hero?).. Vehicles: Exorcist, Immolator, Justice, Repressor.. Uber units: Penitent Engine, Saint Celestine - The Living Saint!! ).

Damn..some good stuff there!

Yes we will otherwise we would not have started the new Ordo.

And we know that more people will join our ranks of the Ordo Hereticus, once

Concerning your *Current State of DoW Mods* thread.
I realised that you assoziated us with the
"WitchHunters Older Relic Thread" (stinkyjimmy).
I would like to point out that we have no dealings with this one.

But please remove the Sisters Of Battle - Dawn Of Faith Thread
from the unhealthy mods list and list it under it's new name
"Witch Hunters Mod (Dawn of Faith)" in the healthy mods one.

As a matter of fact the Sisters of Battle models are good looking and so will be our models of them. But I promise that we will not release a Russ Meyer Edition of the Witch Hunters Mod ;-)


KRMZ started rumours that the founding of the Witch Hunters Mod (Dawn of Faith) was some sort of vengeance, because he had plans to start a own WHs Mod.

The true story is that MasterRobertus addressed me and told me that he wants to make some Sororitas models in order to appeal to the Sisters fans out there. We thought about including them in the intended campaign *ups did I really let these words slip*. Thus he started to post in the Dawn of Faith thread. A first reaction was that a community member ByTe started a poll in our private forum if we should include Witch Hunters as well.
At the same time the Sisters of Faith declared their death. At this point – unlike KRMZ – I contacted the former Mod members and ask for permission to use their current work and we got it. Even better, the major forces behind the Sisters seemed to be revived and joined our team and in order not to loose our focus we founded the Ordo Hereticus of our Mod team.

Another point I would like to point out:
The Witch Hunters will be an independent race/mod. With no access to Daemonhunters units, like Grey Knights. But the Mod will be forged by the same Mod team and some additional staff only interested in the Sisters of Battle and the Witch Hunters.

The thing about WitchHunters/SoB are the models are soooo bloody detailed. I mean, they're like sculptured Medieval-period Crusaders akin to "works of sci-fi art yet set with amazing religious overtones". Yer gonna need the best modellers/textures in the biz for them! :argh:

That's right. The point is that we started the new Ordo two days ago and
KRMZ is working on his Mod for at least two weeks. So give us some time
to organise our new chapter. You will see great improvments soon ;-)

Doesn't the Ordo Xenos just have the Deathwatch Marines as an extra? So it would just need to retexture the already exiting Space Marine models to create their main force. Sorry for my ignorance, but I haven't read much about them.

Yes, that's right we will wait till GW releases the Ordo Xenos codex. (but they rescheduled it, so it will take some time).

There are already stats for a Deatchwatch Kill Team and Emperor's Champion
(from a Chapters Approved book) but they would only justify a Mini-Mod and that
makes no sense in my point of view.

Hmm, I'm not that much into TT to know that no official models have been released yet. I was just wondering if someone was already thinking about adding Deathwatch Kill Teams to the game. I just love the possible flexibility they could add to any SM force (maybe special ammo for the squad upgraded like Drednought's weapons: only one out of four possible). Just a thought though.

Maybe once sth official is released... One can only hope.
Well, bolter and chainsword would have to suffice for now. Has someone released a Deathwatch skin yet? That would be neat. :bandit:

from what ive heard the eldars are next, then probebly some more imperial stuff ( imp guard and space marines, maybe some SOBs ), then hopefully the nids since they look rediculous in my opinion ( well thouse large ones doesnt but the gene stealers do )

i hated ur dh mod it was beyond gay u should not make this mod as another person is making a better version of it with real models and everythign not making a place holder mod because we have enough of them the only gud placeholder mods are adambombs cadian inquisition and of course the thousand sons mod and even all of them are starting to not placehold like adams marneus calgar and the thousand sons men and the demoliser so unless u make some new models just give up waste of a post

YOU know nothing (about us). So how you dare to judge us?!
We are using placeholders in order to check and test our code
and tech-trees, balancing issues,etc.

If you want to play without placeholders wait till we finish the job,
we do not enforce you to play our mod at all.. so if you don't like it
just leace us alone.

what is your problem, you critisise when you havent got all the facts, if you checked out the forums, you would see that the DH mod has some high quality models.

and dont critises if you cannot do any better yourelf, you might be able to do better, but my first impression tells me otherwise.

Deathwatch question: That's a "it would be nice" but it is way low on priorities right now. There are Sister models finalize to my satisfaction, Witchhunter helper units, Inquisitors, and textures to remap and tweak to perfection. (That, and there are some rebellious Stormtroopers who just won't hold an in-game formation without hyperventilating in their masks.)
Sure, I've used Deathwatch Kill Teams in the Table Top game with Sisters of Battle, but as of now, it's a place to finish down the road.

I gotta tell you folks, I'm having a blast with these animations. Relic has provided many great animations for shooting and fighting, but the Toolset and proper programs has given rise to Freedom! You'll see the products of it in Dawn of Faith mod certainly and also in Daemonhunter mod as well.

What other mod? I havent seen any mods as flawless as this one, they have already so many models done, are you tooo impaitient to check to the website? When I mean check I don't mean take a glance and spatter in fustration thinking the mod sucks! have you even began to see the team's hard work!?!?! They are working on TWO MODS at the SAME Time yet they display awesome work. You have no right to state that it is complete crap! If you have some grudges then put it in CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. As they stated the placeholders are to TEST the models. It's people like you that get great potential mods destroyed because of things like this.

Demonhorde.. the WitchHunters ARE NOT overpowered. They're like any other mod and you can be assured you cannot release a game mod that will overpower others. Period. There must be balance or else what is the point of modding. Compromise and creativity are the cornerstones to modding. Having something out-balance another will get fixed FAST as it will immediately turn everyone off. You cannot get passed it in any gaming community.

I'm quite confident that if the WitchHunters and any other modder after all that hard work of moddeling, animating, tech-tree design, weapon/special fxs, sound, etc etc.. will then all of a sudden inbalance all the work against all other DoW civs? Not going to happen..

people are working freely for making mod, after if 2 team made similar things i don't see how it's bad, i play cadian inquisiton and hisrighteous mod of the imperial guard,they are similar but not same, and i really like both.

and this team quite prove that they are able to make something really good, there is a big difference between the 0.15 of ordo malleus, and the 0.5, just test the difference for fun , and you will see.
and sorry for people that dislike the other project (cos of problem or things like this, it's not a professionnal attitude) i'm sure that when the 2 project will go out i will use both.
and i found excellent that team work on different project, cos they could stop and say, well we've finish one, i'm boring :-)

You know this is kind of pathetic to say the least how can any one criticise a mod just because its a place HOLDER? I mean the amount of work which goes into it by the modders, coders, skinners ect is immense. Hive to be honest you do sound like a little Prick, place holder mods true can be frustrating but they do wet the appetite and Just be happy some one is actually creating Mods.

This is how you hate a mod well which will help the makers:

I just played the Daemonhunters mod and I don't like it, firstly great attempt for trieng bring the Grey Knights but first I haven't won a game because of the wierd tech tree. Also The Grey Knight Marine in my oponion is a bit weak for how much they cost! I mean in TT they own in CC but in this game they don't get enhanced dammage. I must adimit I am a Tabletop fan So I always see a mod to be fluffy. Also that I don't like it that the henchmen have a Chaos Aspring Champion as there leader. Also that it would be great to see the custom models in. Another thing that bites me is that you can only have one fortress.

That would be ALOT better explanition then "I hte da md cuz it sux"

This just looks pathetic. This thread should not be dedicated to problems of one individual with oversized ego. The topic reads: [MOD] Witch Hunters Mod (Dawn of Faith). I was expecting to see some developements on the mod discussed here, not a display of name calling and idiocy. hive_node01, build your own temple and go worship there. I'm really surprised that he mods have not intervened yet. What is the procedure to bring this to their attention? I'm not a frequent poster but a regular visitor and this has clearly gone too far.

Thanks to all who have answered on the topic of the Deathwatch. Someday is better then never :) And thanks to the whole lot of you who are doing something for those without any modding skills (like me). Know that you are appreciated. Cheers.

Well in fact things are getting out of control

Today at 15:04 I got a Skype call from a dummy account “anto30” from a French speaking asshole who told me that he want to “burn my di**”

This shows me that a none Zero-Tolerance approach is not working. And that the kid has far too much time – this is an “unofficial, unpublished account”! Masturbate or get yourself a boy friend at the next station or bus stop.

BUT STOP WAISTING MY TIME!

Well the abuse has already been reported to Skype and I hope they will take more drastic actions to keep their system clean. I am not sure if hive_node01 is logging in with a French provider account, but if so I demand that Relic is banning him immediately..

Hi guys, if you take a look at the Daemonhunters MOd you will understand
why we are not posting anyrthing about the Sisters..
BUT from this Thursday the full force of the Holy Inquisition Mod team
will focus on the Witch Hunters Mod. And as you can see from "other"
projects we are quite capabale to do some good lokking stuff ;-)

Looking back over this thread i have an overwhelming sense of pitty in the Ordo's Mod team... The fact that they want to make a free kik-A$$ game for all to enjoy and those people have the nerve to stomp them. So what if Krmz has a mod there can be more than ONE mod out there. (They had prblems with him anywayz)
The reason why there not making progress is because there finishing off there seventh release yep thats rigth SEVEN releases with new models and animations compared to so many other peoples IDEA threads...

So keep up the awsome work guys :beer:

Uhm, there's progress, the Dawn-Team just don'T want to advertise it like the other team, I'm sure that both Mods will have their own gameplay and characteristics.

So what exactly is the plan for this mod, anyways? Are you guys just going to spring a fully working and balanced WH mod on us one day that'll make everyone say "OMG where'd this come from!?!" and "much better than the other WH mod!!"? Can't really understand the reason behind not giving anyone any updates on your progress. Its not like the other team would copy you guys or anything like that.

Its just really unfortunate that one mod's inevitably going to be better than the other and be the one that people dl and the other team's work would've been in vain. It would be nice if you guys could forget the past and work together but I guess there's just too much shit between the two teams still.

Yeaa I never really understood the reason for duplication especially dupping on a grand scale like faction mods! I mean, as Loop mentions it just seems like an utter waste to try to do the same thing UNLESS you plan to totally go a seperate offshoot of the WitchHunters/SoB. With Imperial Guard there are different divisions but other civs are pretty much cut and dry. But.. if thats the way it'll be thats the way! I'll support both sides as they'll both offer their own versions of the SoB!

i really thik that this mod is starting to be a bit obsolete. I mean, even if it is as good as the other witch mod, that one has so much advertising and promotion (i mean on dowfiles and this forum) that its bound to be more popular. The only way i can see this mod being viable is if it is included in the demin hunters mod rather than as a stand alone. Otherwise, as has been stated before, one teams work will probably be wasted.......

I have no idea why the Raptor squad is allowed that many special weapons. I selected 2 upgrade slots staying with the Table Top ruleset. And 2 inferno pistols is enough murder, isn't it?

agree with thudmeizer, who cares if we have two different takes on the sisters of battle? both teams have produced some beautiful work independent of each other, doesn't seem that a little competition has harmed either mod.

As for the seraphims, I have to say that I found them a little over powered (with the melta pistol add ons I found that one unit of seraphims completely owned a squad of banshees, which I seem to remember tt wise should be a faitly even match up - correct me if i'm wrong). Of course, I understand that a whole pile of balancing work is still to be done by the mod team and I'm sure that these things will be ironed out.

Regarding the Daemon Hunters mod, although i understand the appeal of the fluff-faithful over-arching uber mod which delivers everything available within the codex, having played 0.7 i can't help but feel that the mod would benefit from being divided into three separate armies. I like the idea of the Steel Legion/Grey Knights/Sisters of Battle units complimenting each other, but organising such an army within the Dawn of War tech trees/army structures just seemed a little too clumsy. Perhaps it would encourage more interesting team play if in team games each player could choose a different aspect of the daemon hunters and play his army's strengths and weaknesses off his team mate's DH army (like grey knights sturdy infantry backed up by steel legion armour or what have you).

Just some food for thought, keep up the great work, and that Exorcist model looks superb :)

SammyG - Yes you covered all the right points on the negatives for the DH 0.7. We've released alot of different unit types, a few weapons, and a ball of confusions. We *are* still a beta and therefore it's very easy for us sample all the feedback, make adjustments and re-try it. Thanks for your understanding, feedback, and support.

Seraphim vs. Howling Banshees - I've done that battle on TT in a tournament. Banshees can win those fights if Seraphim do not have Acts of Faith (Spirit of the Martyr) running or the power weapons will slaughter the Sisters. So your example will have game balance merits for DoW. I guess in your fight of Seraphim-Banshees.. those inferno pistols got a few ranged shots in before HTH. (in HTH, there isn't much value to a ranged weapon type, though the animations do happen when trooper runs to new ememy model.)

Inquisitional Mods - yes, already working on making divisions of the mods. The strongest point is about multiplayer: a GK/DH player teamed with a Sororitas/OH player would look and fight correctly in accord to game fluff. Mixing them all up is our most frequent critism... so it is getting addressed since the release last week. Tech-tree elements and goals for Dawn of Faith (ordo hereticus) is Sisters of Battle, Witchhunter Inquisitors, retinues, stormtroopers, and the rest of ecclesiactical units (things TT requires a priest for) Adding ImpGuard to this mod would oh.... make the map full of models? Nah, there will be large units of Sisters rivalling Guard platoons, still with the weakness of long range anti-tank killing power. (guess the HK missles are needed on vehicles, neh?) In conclusion... definately expect stand-alone mods in the futures, keeping the Ordo's specialized and or some overlaps. For now, enjoy the "allies" modules.

Actually, that sounds somewhat similar to what we have planned.

that is a special ability of the Seraphims they can use their pistols
as two close comat weapons in the Codex .. so watch out if you
want to go hand-to-hand with these ladies ;)

I tried out the little "preview" in the Daemon Hunters mod, and most say I'm impressed (Especially when they lift off and do all the twirls and stuff, that was pretty damn sweet.) But... Compared to your other models I'm just a bit worried that you guys aren't putting the same time and thought as you did into say the Steel legion units. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not insulting you. You could do a much better job then me.

DivX codec, and try using their player as well. I had the same intermitten problem trying to play the movie in WM Player.

Daemonhunters mod rules... Confusing (lotsa new units and options), but fun. Especially the new tanks rule, i was getting bored with the SM preds and Dreads... THQ should learn from this. Making a new expansion and all that but won't be released until fall, with just 1 new race...

I was wondering how the models for the assassins were coming also I had some sugestions for the vindicare well basicly some questions I like how he can infiltrate but what is his spymask supossed to do also why doesn't the fighting Assassin have any specail abilities have you tried useing a speed boost possibly I love this mod the models are awsome i don't think I would have been able to take the time to do that level of detail (I'm in college ATM)

Ordo Hereticus IS NOT Dawn of Faith

but Daemonhunters with Witch Hunters as Allies .. thus it is mainly a Daemonhunters Mod.
Dawn of Faith will be a "Faithfull Mod" based on Witch Hunters but with emphasis on Adeptus Sororitas (Sisters of Battle) and NO Grey Knights.

Once Ironheaded is online again he will tell you more about this issue .. stay tuned.

Cerberus : No the two mods are seperate and will remain that way, mainly besides the bad feeling between some of the members of both teams, The Dawn of Faith team has a very different Idea of play style. The (Witchhunters mod by Krmz) will feature alot of the arbites, We will be sticking to mainly Sororitas/ Witch hunter Codex

and both teams will have a very different use of the Acts of Faith :)

Hive: As far as I know The (Witchhunters mod by Krmz) was the one your talking about, and Im not sure if they have a true animator or they are X refing the animations

I admit to not having read the whole thread (yet, i'm getting there tho ;)). But just wanted to say i've followed the mod from one of its early incarnations and quite enjoyed the demonhunter mod (its certainly influcenced me to go DH on the tabletop game) and wish you all the best of luck with the witch-hunter one too. certinally lookingforward to it as a witch hunter player on TT.

Well we still are working on it. :) But due to both Ironheaded(Dawn of Faith Team Lead) & me working on the Daemonhunter Mod. Iron working on the grey knight animations, and me helping the change over to 1.3 compatable. The progress has slowed down for a little bit. ;)

Thats the trouble with multi mod teams ;) always twice the work :P

But it wont be too long before we are back to fullspeed and give some Updates!

DH needs all the attention it can get so don't multitask too much or yer liable to burn out. Concentrate on one thing and quality assurance will be maintained!

Hellos again, folks. Time for a better update, neh?

Since I've worked on the Daemonhunters mod, they get priority on my animation time. We will see Grey Knight Terminators before new Sisters. Unfortunately, my real life has been just chaos.. I should have never moved twice in one year! But... I shall never give in to Chaos!!

What we have is a two pronged workload
1) getting the mod 1.4 compatible. That's where I turn things over to Xnight to be the boss.
2) Updating models. I felt that the Seraphim models carried way too high a polycount than needed and the cloakwork attached to the legs. With a new base model of Sisters, the Seraphim and Celestians will get done VERY fast. Rigging is already done. Any stellar texture artist is welcome to contact me to expedite things.
