Right click on the Homeworld shortcut, go to properties, then Compatibility, and select Windows NT 4.0 SP5. Let us know if that works or not.

Post more of your system specs please... like your video card for example.

Try the /sw command line switch and see if that gets you into the game.

K... try downloading this... http://www.3ddownloads.com/?file_id=105530

It's the HW Video Tweaker...

Now... this program needs an entry for your video card in the devstats.dat file to work properly. So, open devstats.dat in notepad, and scroll down to the last line. Open HWVideotweaker.exe then hit the device info button. Note the string it gives you. Go back to the devstats.dat file, and replace the first number in that file (4D592BF4) with the string you wrote down. Now, after the last number (000000C0), put a single space, then write the name of your vid card in there. Save the file.

If you are willing to take the risk, you can install DirectX 9 beta 3

http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&safe=off&q=directx+9+beta+download&meta=

This expires by Christmas but by then there'll be another revision or even a final available for download.
