Company of Heroes Planet is proud to bring you an Exclusive Interview (http://cohp.mednickonline.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=8) with relic producer John Johnson on Company of Heroes. Here is an excerpt:
With the advanced AI and "living" soldiers, how will micro and squad control come into play?
Our philosophy is simple; the player should be focused on telling the units what to do, and not be micromanaging how each unit has to do something, the soldiers should carry out an order intelligently and to the best of their ability. Your soldiers will not stand blindly in the middle of the street taking fire waiting for you to tell him to do something, he’ll try to find the best cover available nearby and return fire if possible and generally try to handle the situation as best as possible.
There is a quote that we love that fits with this philosophy from General George Patton Jr “Never tell people how to do things. Tell them what to do and they will surprise you with their ingenuity.”
