Though not often, I do try my hand at modelling. So what do you think of it? I colored it so that it will be easier to see, unless you are color blind. Not much I can do for you there.

Looks kinda funny. :) If you don't mind me saying that. Pretty cool concept though. Reminds me of one of the HW1 concept fighters that was shown in the credits (man those credits were cool). Is that where you got the idea?

One thing I think you could do to improve it though would be flatten out the cocpit a little so it looks more HW'ish. You don't see many fighters with a verticle window like that normally. The cocpit also looks a little wide. Maybe make it smaller (width wise). To take up the space where the cocpit was but now no longer occupies (b/c you made it smaller) you could put in a missile rack or something. OR a small mini-gun. :) Oh well, just a suggestion.

EDIT: The sky blue part is the cocpit...right?

fyi, colour blindness doesn't mean you see in black and white ;)

Ah! The pain in my eyes cannot be described! The Emperor of Spam is trying to blind me...

At the moment Inert there is not a need for new fighter designs, you never know what is lurking on our board after all...

Jeez guys give him a break. :P I know there are a lot of people here who are adept at making 3D models, but for those of us (like me) who are just starting out, it's not that easy. Have respect that he tried. :dunce:

That fighter sure does have a cool hat.
Alternatively, if it weren't the technicolor fighter of DOOM, I would say that I like this model. However, the cockpit should be scaled dows, because the smallest fighters are about the size of a garbage truck, and usually are the size od a MAC truck. I like the shape of the engine port, though the "hat" looks a little odd. I like the protruding fins with the little pipes exposed on the bottom, and am curious if that was just for looks. Nyar! [/rational critique]

personally i say you should flatten it a good bit, and then widen it some. (as a whole) so basically, steam roll it alittle :P

Better than some attempts at modeling on this board.

The pipe details are meh, but otherwise it shows promise (your modeling, not neicssarily the model :P)

of course of course. i was not overly satisfied with it anyways. i will mess with it some more. (it will still be under the codename: technicolor fighter of DOOM) thanks for your suggestions.

i did steal this idea from the hw1 concepts. looks nothing like it lol.

Mm. Talent. Looks good!

Reminds me of some of the black-and-white concept illustrations for some early HW1 Kushan fighters.

And what program are you using? MAya?

Ohhhh. A nice utilitarian design, I see.

EDIT: Though, I might integrate that engine cover thing into the back somehow.

Lookin' good thar' matey. :catpilot:

Only thing I would suggest is integrating the engine cover into the back and possibly flattening out the "body" of it or making it more sloped.

< wish i had maya.

nope, i'm using 3ds max 7. i will look into integrating the air vent into the engine. somehow.

Hey, I like it - very nice.

How easy is it to use? I'm looking for a good 3-d program and I'm wondering if the learning curve is better than Maya's...

From head on, the model looks great, but as the others say, the rear needs work.

yes i am hating the ass of the ship as well. ceade it's pretty easy to get used to, though it is $4,000 (double maya!). however... gmax, the *practice tool* of 3ds max is free for you to practice models, though it can't do anything.

edit: i fixed the back up, what of now?

would really really help if i learned to texture, but i'm that lazy.
