REPUBLIC OF TERRAN OCCUPIED WORLDS

The Republic employs many independent contractors for their ships. Their fighters and warships are generally superior compared to Terran and Imperial counterparts, but are rather expensive and less numerous. Because of many contractors, republic ships often have little in common, and thus many different repair parts are needed, making repairs harder.

Sigma Fleet Yards-This yard is responsible for ships such as the switchblade and Templar cruiser they also were the firm that designed the famed Excalibur.

Orion Fleet systems-This is the firm that has designed famous ships like the phoenix advanced interceptor and the famed and al powerful Apocalypse and archangel battlecruisers.

Ursa Polaris Fleet Yards-This firm designed most of the fleet’s midrange size vessels and its commercial and military ships can be seen all over the republic and elsewhere.

STRIKECRAFT

Dagger Scout Fighter:

Daggers greatest assets are its speed and powerful sensors. This agile fighter is the eyes of the fleet, designed to move in, gather information, and move out. Although it is armed with two plasma pulse cannons, it is best to keep it out of combat.

Switchblade Interceptor:

Standard fighter of the Republic, the switchblade is a proven design that served the Navy for years. Good armor, speed and firepower ensure that despite its age it will still be in service in days to come.

Claymore Bomber:

This heavy bomber’s outlines resemble the well known great sword, and just like it strikes fast and hard. They pose a great danger to enemy warships, but the long recharge time of their heavy guns and poor accuracy against small, fast targets make them vulnerable to enemy fighter cover. Still, their good agility can help them escape or at least survive long enough for help to arrive.

The most devastating fighter used by the Republic is definitely the new AHF-25 Phoenix. It's fast, maneuverable and durable, but its greatest feature is two powerful HR-12 Nova rectors coupled with a brand new shield generator, which enable it to regenerate them at an immense speed. Painted pitch black, with four advanced gattling cannons, the first and last thing most enemy pilots will see is the fiery glimmer of the Phoenix insignia on its wings.
It still has to prove itself in actual combat, and against its imperial counterpart, the Falchion, but the designers seem sure of their “baby”.

The Cavalier was created during the first conflict between the imperials and republicans. The ships design was drafted to deal with the massive swarms of imperial fighters that were menacing capitol ships, It became quickly successful with its pilots when its average kill count neared the hundred, It remains in service to this day.

Armageddon Super Bomber (Corvette sized):

The mother of all bombers, Armageddon was designed in response to the Empire’s larger warship numbers. Almost the size of a corvette it can take a lot of punishment, but with its two Judgment Day Launchers it can deal even more. Even one of these monsters is a threat to any enemy warship, but its size and cost limit it deployment only on the largest of carriers.

Mechanized Space Infantry

The Centurion was the first space assault Mech created…it was created merely as an experiment but when it proved itself at providing close fire support and point defense for capitol ships the republic military drafted a large order…since then it has been relegated to scout duty to make way for newer designs but the centurion is still the staple of any small battle group.

The Legionnaire is the newest model of Mech and is top of the line…its sole purpose is to defend capitol ships from missiles, fighters and cruise missiles although it is very useful for protecting resource operations

Praetorian Heavy Support Mech

The praetorian is a slightly older Mech although it was originally designed to replace the centurion it was found inadequate for that role but after extensive testing it proved useful in bombing and attacking enemy capitol ships and their defenses.

FRIGATE CRAFT

Allegiance Assault Frigate:

The allegiance class assault frigate was designed as a light assault ship for capitol ship support in fleet engagements. Even tough many of these were lost (mainly due to superior enemy numbers or inadequate fighter defense), the republic still produces them in great numbers.

Liberty Beam Frigate (ANTI STRIKECRAFT):

The liberty was designed to deal with the massive swarms of imperial strikecraft menacing capitol ship formations…these ships have been known to tag imperial fighters by the hundreds in an engagement.

Retribution Heavy Frigate:

This ship is one of the few Republics purely offensive designs. Featuring two huge anti-cap IPP gattling cannons and a single heavy beam cannon, it can tear even trough the largest targets with stunning ease, and outclasses every other known frigate, even the Terran Ninja, but it has to be carefully employed. With all weapons fixed forward it is vulnerable if caught off-guard despite its armor. Also, the power drain of its main weapons was so big, that AF turrets were removed during testing.

LIGHT CAPITAL SHIPS

Protector Light Carrier:

The protector is a frontline attack carrier whose role is to ferry strikecraft into battle and provide them with logistical support….These carriers often act as good command posts due to their extensive command and control capabilities. The Protectors main asset is the many smaller fighter bays that enable it to launch all of its fighters quickly. This and its speed make it ideal for hit-and-run attacks.

Brigadier Patrol Cruiser:

1x1 Light Fwd. Fixed Magnetic Assault Cannon

The brigadier is a wolf pack hunter…its role is to go behind enemy lines or into capitol ships formations and pick apart individual targets….the main railgun which is several times more powerful than even the biggest Terran railguns excels very capably in its role.

Excalibur Light Cruiser:

The Excalibur is the most common ship in the fleet and the fame this ship class has acquired makes the class almost legendary. This ship has been involved in almost every major fleet action for twenty years and it has repeatedly exceeded all expectations. All Excalibur’s were recently upgraded which further increases their effectiveness. So far, the production is still going strong and is unlikely to change in the near future.

MEDIUM CAPITAL SHIPS

Testament Cruiser:

The Testament is a credit to republican design philosophy. This ship has been in use for nearly eighty years and although that may sound old the ship frame is still in widespread use and production. Originally the largest ship in the fleet it was always designed to be a heavy hitter but even now it lives up to its claims these ships despite their age have overcome the odds and taken on ships twice their size...one story tells of a pair of testaments that single handedly took out a starcrusher and its escorts. As its name implies this ship is a testament to the longevity of the republic. Still, they slowly start to show their age and are being phased out by more modern designs.

Templar Heavy Cruiser:

The Templar is the current midsize cruiser in use by the republic. This ship is relatively new in design and has yet to be tested in a major engagement. Though the design specifications say it should be able to take down a ship roughly two times larger than its self remains to be seen.

Majestic in its appearance, colossal in size, the Guardian is the perfect carrier. Swarms of fighters and bombers can be released from its cavernous hangar bays in a moments notice, easily turning the tide of battle. It has good speed and adequate fighter defenses, and even decent anti-cap firepower. It is the largest carrier vessel known (in total volume... the imperial Colossus class is somewhat longer), and as a result, also the most expensive one.

Apocalypse Battlecruiser:

Shaped like a huge rifle, the Apocalypse looks more dangerous than it actually is. It was the heaviest warship of the Republic before the appearance of the Archangel. Still, it should never be underestimated - it has proven itself in battle over and over again, to the delight of its constructors.

Archangel Battleship:

The greatest warship ever to come out of Republic shipyards, the Archangel does its name justice. The graceful design is heavily armed and armored, but it still retains excellent speed and maneuverability. Its greatest asset is the deadly precision and range of its main batteries.
It still hasn't proven itself in actual battle, but in simulations it earned the title of «best battleship» due to it's impressive preformance in every tactical scenario.
The results were so good, that a super-heavy version was commissioned to serve as the Flagship of the Republic. Only a few of these vessels have been made to date, but Orion shipyards are already being swarmed with contracts for more.





IMPERIAL STAR NAVY

All Imperial ships are made by the same giant contractor, and are fully modular. This makes repair jobs and mass production easy. This does degrade their armor performance slightly, but their powerful shielding makes up for that. Due to the large swarms of fighters at their disposal, Imperial ships generally have weaker point-defense systems.


STRIKECRAFT


Saber Interceptor:

Basic Imperial fighter, Sabers are cheap to produce and come in large numbers. They use large wings and swarming tactics to compensate for their weak armor and armament.

Scimitar Bomber:

The Scimitar uses the basic hull of the Saber, although modified for more volume and use of anti-cap weaponry. Because of this, they are also cheap to repair and manufacture, as they share practically all parts with the Saber. The downside is that they are rather weak and are only effective in larger numbers.

Falchion Advanced Interceptor:

The Falchion is surprisingly one of the most advanced star fighters and can stand toe to toe with the mighty republican phoenix (at least in theory). It is fast, maneuverable and heavily armed, and it is believed by many that it was made based on stolen blueprint from a cancelled republic project.

Katana Heavy Bomber:

A deadly next generation imperial bomber that has a single, although devastating weapon. Despite its more advanced tech, it still has all the major setbacks of other Imperial fighter craft – it’s designed for cheap mass production and as a result some cuts were made that downgraded its performance.

CORVETTES

Broadsword Attack Gunship:

The Broadsword is the frontline assault gunship of the Imperium…….Forged in the midst of the first Imperial Republican war; these ships have proved their worth as support vessels for frigates and are capable of taking down frigates in large enough groups……These are a favorite among new pilots due to the ease of piloting….most pilots later however move on to the saber or scimitar series of strikecraft.

Long Sword Missile Gunship:

The long sword is made for one thing…..interdiction of enemy strikecraft using the firing of DUMB or unguided missiles in masse…..just one squad of these can be a nightmare for republican fighter flights as they cannot be jammed due to their DUMB missiles. The missiles do have some tracking ability due to their basic IR tracking systems, albeit, it is poor indeed.

FRIGATES

Hellhound Assault Frigate

Designed with enemy fighter cover in mind, the Hellhound is a good and sturdy ship. Because of the superiority of republic fighters, it hasn’t scored nearly as many kills as the Liberty, which in reality is a better ship, but it’s rather cost effective to compensate.

The design of the Lance is rater simple – so simple that when it first appeared it was laughed at by the enemy. That quickly changed when a storm of fusion missiles overwhelmed their defenses. The Lance should not be underestimated, for it presents a grave threat to anything with inadequate point defenses. The lack of AF defenses and thin armor mean it should be used as a surprise strike weapon.

There are times when the empire wants to capture an enemy ship – whether to gather information on enemy tech, to interrogate the crew or simply to intimidate. This is where the Intruder comes in – it’s lightly armed and has to be carefully guarded, but once it latches on to an enemy ship, Imperial troopers can quickly board it.

The Vengeance is a recent addition to the Imperial fleet, Its sole purpose is to hunt down and destroy frigates and other cruiser craft, In this it excels however like most imperial capitol ships it suffers from a lack of adequate modern point defense systems making it vulnerable to enemy fighter cover,

Designed as heavy support for larger ships, the Dominator is an excellent choice for hunting down smaller warships. It’s rather large number of weapons enables it to engage multiple targets at once and it can really cause a mess if underestimated.

The Legion is a simple craft with a single minded purpose……to let loose a flood of strikecraft into the battle space. It has a simple point defense grid and very thin armor as most of its internal space houses fighter decks and engine systems…..This is all offset by the fact that any imperial commander can field five legion carriers at any one time

The heretic is the premiere capitol ship of the imperial armada and can be seen anywhere in imperial space…..most often it is used to police colony worlds and keep the star systems in line though in fleet actions they make excellent capitol ship killers when properly escorted, usually by dominators or vengeance class light cruisers.

SUPER-CAPITAL SHIPS

The Colossus is the primary heavy carrier of the imperial armada…it acts as a SFD jump point to bring in larger ships from imperial shipyards and can constructs anything up to heavy cruisers on its own. Its design resembles that of the old earth sea based carriers, and has the capability of bearing twenty fighter squadrons into battle. Many a captain has seen a horrendous swarm pour out from within its cavernous launch bays. Due to its record length it suffers from an abysmal turn rate and slow speed in general.

The SunSlayer is the staple of the Imperial fleet. These tough and durable ships have served the empire with brutal effectiveness for years. The initial design had a different weapon set up, but advances in weapon technology and the emperors desire to test new weapons were the reason some turrets were removed in the favor of torpedo tubes.

The muscle of the Imperial fleet, Starcrusher is a fearsome opponent. Used also as an intimidation weapon to keep more troublesome systems under the emperor’s tight grip, its sheer size and number of guns are more then enough to scare the opposition.
Those who still decide to defy the emperor get to feel its firepower, as evident in the bombarding of Balor III that completely obliterated the colony.

The provider is a simple pod with two manipulator arms……It is used by resource stations to collect raw materials for fleet construction.

Terran Star Empire

The Terran empire doesn’t posses as advanced tech as the republic and empire, but what they do posses is improved to perfection.
Their ships still mostly use rotating sections as artificial gravity is still experimental. Most common weapons used are mass drivers, whose effectiveness is indisputable. Their shielding is weak, but their armor more than compensates for it.

LIGHT STRIKE CRAFT

While this ship can be considered outdated and primitive by some, it still performs its job admirably. Its combat rating is pathetic but powerful sensors that take up most of its volume make it an ideal scout.

Many have often thought that the hammer looks nothing like a hammer, but rather more alien in design……these are all people who have been crushed by wave after wave of these powerful interceptors and had no recourse but to criticize its design.

The chisel is a remarkable design in that it is the smallest ship ever designed to carry mass drivers, These weapons are high power magnetic cannons that shoot projectiles at near the speed of light…..The resulting armor and shield penetrating values make this weapon worth the heavy power an ammunition requirements.

Terran engineers developed the Anvil after the initial confrontations with the republic and empire, trying to mimic their design and tech. As a result it really stands out, resembling far more a republic vessel. During the battle at Kessel between the Republic and Terrans, the prototypes were unexpectedly called from the nearby testing range to aid in the combat. Since they had no painting scheme yet and pilots relied mostly on visual contact, their arrival caused confusion on both sides. Mistaking them for their own, republic pilots didn’t engage them and the Anvils headed for their cruisers. The Terran pilots on the other hand thought they were new enemy bombers that tried to return to their motherships and attacked them.
Needles to say, this resulted in total chaos as everyone was shooting on everything else that moves, and the comm. channels were filled with accusations of treachery, sabotage and incompetence. In the end, both fleet commanders ordered a cease-fire to end the madness.
Despite its rather comical introduction into active service, the Anvil is an efficient and dangerous craft.

The scythe is true to its namesake….using kinetic burst cannons these gun ships cut a swathe through enemy fighter formations……Both the imperial and republican forces fear these ships because of one simple fact….Flak is deadly against any fighter and the report of squadrons of these on a battlefield is a death knell to any fighter operations without proper support.

SledgeHammer Heavy Corvette
4x1 Light Mass driver turrets
2x1 35mm Autocannon turrets

The sledgehammer has a singular purpose attached to its name, Hunt down and kill enemy gun ships…its armament is fitting to this end although it can be deployed against frigates affectively as well….These ships are the vessels of choice for police agencies for small operations.

The Samurai is one of the few Terran warships with artificial gravity, but since the technology is still experimental, it’s not cheap. It is well armed, fast and dangerous, but lacks somewhat in the armor department. This ship is built around five light mass drivers meant for fire support during fleet engagements.

The asymmetrical and compact design of the Ninja was the reason the republic classified it as a heavy corvette when it was first sighted. Its heavy armor and a large mass driver cannon that takes up most of its length became evident in the upcoming battle, where it inflicted heavy losses.
Needless to say, the republic was quick to fix that classification error.

The Zeus is the best armed of any strike carrier currently in service by any space navy….almost a light cruiser she is capable of holding her own against most ships for a limited time….even more so with her fighter wings deployed…..Unfortunately the extra armor and weapons limit its carrying capacity to about eight or nine squadrons.

The Hermes is the staple of the Terran fleet…this ship can be found all over the empire and has been found to be the prefect police vessel. It is also employed by many Terran civilian agencies such as the Bureau of Civil Services which is essentially the police.

The Apollo is one of the better proven ships in the fleet……this ship has been tested in combat against the Tendari where it showed a great deal of effectiveness in dealing out damage to enemy vessels……Its mass driver turrets can track almost any large target allowing it to deal out massive amounts of damage, And its fusion missile batteries can deal heavy damage to hull plating.

The Ares class heavy cruiser is a high mark in Terran ship design….And is one of the newer ships in the Terran armada. The basic design resembles that of the Apollo. It even has a fixed section that appears to be a rotating one, despite the fact that it’s the first Terran warship with artificial gravity. Regardless, the Ares is far more dangerous that its little brother, with better weapons coverage, armor and firepower, but is also far more expensive. It’s probably the best Terran design up to date, as the republic has it classified as a Battlecruiser due to its frightening effectives.

The archer has one purpose in the Terran fleet, To bring as many missile weapons to the battlefield as possible…..this deadly warship can exterminate swarms of fighters or launch a salvo of Fusion missiles to deal with a capitol class threat….and just to make sure she can engage most frigates on even grounds she sports four medium mass driver turrets…..This ship is not only a capable but also a deadly warship of the Terran fleet.

The War Hammer is the largest ship in the Terran fleet and it shows….this ship not only mounts the heaviest weapons but is also the only Terran ship to sport kinetic and energy shielding…while by republican standards its about the same as light cruiser class shielding this vessel still has her impressive layers of ablative armor plate and 6 inch thick Tritanium hull plate.

The phalanx is roughly the size of a medium cruiser and has no armaments. This is offset by the fact that this is a mobile shield generator….capable of shrouding an entire fleet in a shield this is probably one of the Terrans most useful ships as it protects the bulk of their fleet while they engage the enemy with their long range mass drivers.

The Terran Star Empire

In the year 2014 A man named George Hadron invented the Space Fold Drive giving mankind the ability to travel to the stars, Colonization began slowly within ten years only eight colonies had been founded most within a three system radius of earth. The colonies grew and flourished as people fled from Earth in hopes of a new and better life. Around 2086 discontent was sewn among the colonies in United Earth Space and most of the colonies broke away form earth forming what they dubbed the Terran Empire. Ten years of civil war ensued but by 2096 the UEA was defeated and the survivors of the UEA government were packed into huge colony ships that were hastly re-fitted t oserve as prison ships. After a short debate, the ships were launched and sent into deep space, the prisoners accused of monstrous crimes and labeles as traitors that must never return. This act resulted in the rising of a rebel movement that wanted to topple the government for it's deeds. Fifteen years after the ships launched, another civil war ensued. This one lasted over 20 years and ended with the defeat of the rebellion. By 2138 all known human system were under the tight control of the empire. But two wars left theri toll, as much of the infrastructure had to be rebuilt and many lives were lost. This pushed the empire back somewhat and it spent years rebuling and fortyfing.


Exiles

Those aboard the prison transports faced a hard life in deep space they only had outdated Hadron drives and only enough food and hydroponics technology to keep themselves from starving. Of the 18 prison ships only 6 survived and even they were eventually separated due to navigational errors. After 50 years of struggle in the cold vacuum of space one prison ship arrived at a world that would become known as Gaia, Bastion of peace, prosperity, and hope for millions. Another ship arrived on a barren desert world called Ash this place would become known as a place of hate, oppression and vengance.


The Republic Of Terran Occupied Worlds

Gaia soon prospered. The lush world was abundant with rich natural resources and soon the Gaia Union occupied more than ten systems, Soon Gaia made contact with other colonies of prisoners. In 2252 four of the six colonies signed the Republic charter forming the Republic of Terran occupied worlds. The fledgling republic spread its borders taking in several alien races along the way soon the Republic was 35 systems strong and way spread around nearly half of the galactic core.



The Galactic Imperium

The colony of Ash is a barren and desolate place….with huge harsh deserts and numerous magma flows. This was the breeding ground for mass hatred of a people against the rest of their own race…Soon after landfall those who settled on the colony of Ash found themselves on a harsh unforgiving world... it however was intensely rich in the metals and minerals needed to make war. So the colonists of Ash set to building themselves an empire. The vulcanic ground was fertile, but aquireing water for the crops was a hard task. Dispite all odds, the people persevired and begun to create green oais wherever teh harh enviroment allowed. But as their number grew, the fertile land did not, and since they could not provide enough for themselves they would take what they needed by force. By the time the colony of Ash had taken to space the republic had already been flourishing… They were offered membership in the republic…for reasons of mutual trade and security. They however declined - they would not associate with humans that were not from ash, all others were considered “IMPURE”. Soon they using the resources at their disposal had built themselves a massive war fleet they took planet after planet from both the pendelorian kingdom and the illdaran Empire gaining massive amounts of space and many colonies….They sent the captured aliens to work as slaves and soon massed a fleet to begin the biggest offensive in imperial history….all out war with the famed republican fleet.


The Great War Of The Core Worlds

The Imperium struck without warning at the border colony of Altos, a Tendari republican member world. Within hours the colony had been laid to waste and the entire population was exterminated or enslaved. The republican fleet responded but it arrived too late - it was in orbit a mere hour after the planets demise. Above the smoldering ruins they swore they would not let their people go unavenged. The republican fleet was a third the size of the imperial fleet, they however had superior alien weapons technology coupled with the already impressive technology at their disposal. The imperial fleet took severe losses at the hands of their superior enemy, but not to be outdone the imperial commander (one Grand Admiral Saris Khan) launched the Khan maneuver in which all the capitol ships in the fleet ejected their secondary fusion cores and detonated them as they jumped outsystem. The effect was devastating and were it not for their shielding the republicans first major engagement with the imperials would have been a total defeat. The war dragged one for twelve years until a treaty was signed by the prime minister and the emperor declaring peace, as they had both taken heavy losses from the war and the threat of the alien super nations was a constant worry of the imperials.


The Return Of The Terran Empire

On July 24th 2298 earth standard calendar a Terran deep space reconnaissance probe jumped into the Altos system, and was greeted by a massive starship graveyard. The information was sent back to High command and the earth admiralty had a problem on their hands. The fleets they saw were very human in their nature of design, so the natural assumption was that the exiles survived and they would have to be dealt with….soon the Terran empire began fielding a large war fleet to deal with the threat at hand….no one crosses the empire and lives to tell the tale. The Terrans soon began to move their fleet towards the Altos system it would be a logical place to start... little did they realize what they would walk into the middle of.


The second battle of Altos

On December 31st 2298 the Terran third fleet jumped into the altos system expecting a graveyard of ships instead they had jumped right into the middle of a major fleet construction yard. The republican 2nd fleet under the command of Admiral Jacob Irons engaged the Terran fleet and both sides took moderate losses as most of the republican ships were incomplete and undermanned. The Terrans in a show of cocky force decided to jump out system and find a juicier target. They jumped directly into the orbit of Gaia the planets defense emplacements and defense fleet easily took the Terran fleet apart…they never reported back and the empire assumed the worst…the war was on.

I will be providing render of all the ships as time goes on for all those who didnt follow the mod before and are new to it...

Downloaded your mod a long time ago. Very good. Starcrusher is beautifull but I think its guns should be more powerful.

What is the story behind the terrans. I thought both major races(imperium and republic) came from earth.

The Terrans are the people who exiled who would later become the republicans and imperials to their current worlds Gaia and Ash,The terrans neve expected them too survive and if it werent for the corrupt terran senate the long lost humans would have been greeted with open arms...not that the imperials would have cared but the republicans wouldnt have minded.But the senate saw both nations as a threat and immediately declared war on them.

yes it spins to produce gravity...Terrans due to their isolationist policies werent able to acquire certain basic technologies for example gravity plating, and plasma pulse weaponry...while their weaponry is crude in comparison it is still quite effective.

It looks very nice once i learn how to use maya and 3ds i might give you hand, i would love to play it to see if it is good as you make it look but i doubt my computer would run it, the thing can barely handle PDS.

You need to add point defense turrets to the bottom of the Legion. Otherwise it is defenseless against bombers attacking from beneath.

were still alive albeit moving slowly activity is mostly present on the ssc boards located here (http://dj.rogueserv.com/ssc/forums/index.php) i will start trying to update but i have been on sebattical for the past month but expect more activity as soon as our members become available...trust me were not dead in fact im beggining to think this mos is of the undead IT WONT DIE(THATS A GOOD THING) :P
