View Full Version : Recommandations to improve the game and to speed up the match launched.

1- Make the production structure, at least the vehicule production one, limited to one structure. That way, the game wont turn as a spam festival and loosing units will be more meaningful.

2- Improve the multiplayer match creation. As it is now, its not rare to have to wait 15-20min to start a match! Its not acceptable and must be improve.

There is many reasons that explain why it take so much time to launch a game I think. The main reason why it take so much time is because the automatch random mode AND the custom Play Game mode have both STATISTIC related to their USE. If you wasn't granted stats for playing a custom Play match more players would use the random automatch, because ppl likes stats and their gift that come with it (even though it is as little as a simple yellow stars). Consenquently, the random Automatch option would become more efficient at launching a game since more players would be availible to make it work properly. In short, to improve the time it take to launch a game you must absolutly to find a way to reduce the appealment of the custom play match option, so the random creation one would become more effective.

My point is drive also from the idea that a random team generator is more efficient at providing a match quickly than if you give the player the possibility to choose his team. You can have a factual proof of that with the Warcraft3 Bnet launch game system. It succed well to focus all their players community to use the Random allocation team system to play a wc3 match. It succed because icon and stats was only related to that random system allocator.

When a player use the cutom Play game he doesn't know with which player he will be with, so basicly his selection and the result of getting a match that way as for final result to be exactly like a RANDOM match. People doesn't use random, because in 2vs2 or 3vs3 there is not enough ppl to make the option efficient at providing a match. They are also not drag into it since they can get Statistic and symbolic gift by just playing the Play Game option. The overall result is it take more time to get a match with Play game option than if most people was using the automatch one.

A second problem come with the possiblity to check the stats of a player within a game launch lobby. At first, the idea looks extremly good. However, it have for negative side effect to increase considerably the time it take to launch a game since most players enter in a lobby, check the stats and then leave if they are not with a "good 55%+" team. Then it take a lots of time, because everyone have to wait even more to have the requirement players to launch the game.

Another negative side effect that came with the possiblity to see the stats in the game lobby is it create un-balance team much more often. Since most players use the Play Game option like a random one (I mean by that when we use the Play game option we don't know with which player we are going to play with and we don't know how good they are until now.), the possibility to check their stats before the game start allow the formation of a team of good players within team1 because the good players that will join in will stay only if they see the host and the other players have good stats. Then, the team2 will be made most oftenly with players that have less skills since the good players who will see that his team cannot compete with team1 will simply leave the match which have for final result that the only players that will stay in team2 will be exclusivly made with "noob" or poor players. It end up with quantities of match un-balanced and also with numeros match where you know already that you will loose since you can see the team1 vs t2 is un-balanced in terms of players quality. Considering this, it was better, more fun and more balanced when every one was ignorant of the stats and skill of their players team composition.

Creating a petition and send it to Relic will have a better result than the 100th thread like this since the last month.

I think adding this to the suggestionbox is a good idea tho.

Maybe i missed some, but i didnt see much pression in terms of thread to improve and adress the problem related to the match launch mecanic. Since i didnt see any "suggestion" section, I thought to post this here at least.

Most concern balance about units.

Also, what do you mean exactly by creating a petition?

Basicly, all I want is people support this thread if they agree with the points I made, so if we get many replies it might be taken in consideration.

Anyway, one way or another the time launch MUST be improve, because 15-20min are annoying the players a lot now. The good point about this is it can be fix, because DOW still have enough ppl in. All it need is a improvement in the way a game is selected, so the teams could be set faster.

A petition is when you get people to sign up for your terms, like the topic here, and when you got enough names you send it to Relic.

Anyway I support this whole heartedly, but these things have been brought up many times before and nothing have happened yet.
Only drawback is that I like to see people's stats, in the lobby or in the game room doesn't matter.
