Alright, since there hasn't been a tutorial for painting normal human skin yet, I'll start with my very own tutorial, and hopefully, other people will add in their two cents.
1. Ok, first off, start with your normal Chaos Black undercoat.
2. Start with a layer of Dark Flesh.
3. Next, do a 50%-50% highlight of Dark Flesh and Bestial Brown.
4. For the next highlight, just use Bestial Brown.
5. Now, use a 75%-25% highlight of Bestial Brown and Bleached Bone.
6. Over that, highlight with a 50%-50% mix of those same colors.
7. Finally, use a 25% Bestial Brown with 75% Bleached Bone for the final highlight.
If you want to have a pretty pale-ish face, Add one more highlight or drybrush of Bleached Bone.
Once I get a hold of a non-painted human model, I'll make pics of the instructions.
Until then, peace

For a quick fix, a layer of tanned flesh over a black undercoat with a final layer of dwarf flesh does the job.

Meh. I prefer a Vermin Brown undercoat, followed by a layer of tanned flesh, higlight by dwarf flesh and then an extreme highlight of elf flesh.
Your methods good, thesilent1, it just looks a little to complicated for mass painting.

for my IG, I used a beastial brown first coat, followed by a 50/50 beastial brown and dwarf flesh layer and finally by a 40/60 bleached bone and dwarf flesh drybrush.
:jig: :jig: s'all right. :jig: :jig:

for my IG i use a base coat of dark flesh, followed by a 50 - 50 mix of dark flesh and dwarf flesh, followed plain dwarf flesh, then 50 - 50 mix of dwarf flesh and elf flesh highlighted with 50 - 50 elf flesh and bleach bone...sounds complicating but it looks good and doesnt take much time.

Bronzed Flesh/Elf Flesh 1/1
Elf Flesh
Pallid Flesh
This gives a nice, pale (but slightly yellowish) skintone. Fitting for Sisters of Battle with the slightly goth twist they have.
Dwarf Flesh
Dwarf Flesh/Elf Flesh 2/1
Dwarf Flesh/Elf Flesh 1/2
Elf Flesh
A more "full" skintone. Not sure if I like the result, tho.

Hmm...seems I am lacking some of the correct paints?
I currently have Games Workshop's Elf Flesh and Bronzed Flesh and a primed and ready Captain Lysander waiting for me to paint his face.
Do you think these two colours are okay? Or do I need more?

I have Vallejo's Black and Vermit Brown as well as Games Workshop's Graveyaard Earth.
Will they work? Or a different kind of brown is needed?

Bronzed Flesh and Elf Flesh will work, IMO, but you'll also need either Skull White or Bleached Bone (1/1 mix with Elf Flesh for the brightest highlights)

I have those too. Bleached Bone and Skull White though they are from Vallejo's range.

Noooo, those are most definatley GW paints. Vallejo makes Bone White and some other odd name for Off White. Ivory, I think.

I paint my human flesh with these (all GW paints):
Tanned Flesh
Tanned Flesh/Dwarf flesh 50:50
Dwarf Flesh
Add Skull White for as many highlights as you like.
For darker skin: start with either Scorched Brown or Dark Flesh, and finish with Dwarf Flesh as your final highlight.
For lighter skin: Start with the Dwarf Flesh, and finish with pure Skull White.
For diseased skin: As lighter skin, but halfway through give the entire thing a wash with very watered green and brown ink (mixed works just as well as seperate coats).
For pallid skin: Start with Dwarf Flesh mixed with Scab Red or Red Gore, and add Skull White straight to the mix to highlight. (I don't know if Pallid Flesh is still a current colour or not, if it is then that works just fine over dwarf flesh instead).
As a personal note, I wouldn't touch Bronzed Flesh as a skin tone if you paid me. It's purpose in life is to basecoat Bleached Bone :)

For my Space Marine skins, custom chapter.
For light skin tones:
White primer. Then apply a full light cover of dwarf flesh. Apply a 40/60 flesh ink wash and let it run in the creases. Light detail brushing of elf flesh, complete over elevated areas (also do the eyes during this phase). Bone structure in particular has to be defined with elf flesh. For a small bit of highlighting I use a very small highlight of skull white over the most elevated positions of the face, the nose, the brow, etc.
For dark skin tones:
Black Primer. Then apply a 60/40 flesh ink wash. Do the eyes, mouth, etc. at this point. Then I apply a drybrush of dark flesh, highlighting elevated areas with bestial brown.

I used Tanned, then Bronzed then Elf Flesh and I find it tends to look really good, though I'm painting Eldar, so their skin tones tend to be a bit less pink-ish

what I do for my imperial guard, and space marines is as follows
Chaos black or skull white under coat followed by a coat of bronzed flesh, then i apply flesh wash which i believe adds a sense of shading then i finnish off with a highlight of Elf Flesh.
