I get a "your patch is corrupted" error message!
Due to a server problem at one point corrupted files were actually being downloaded. Try re-downloading from one of the verified sources listed here (http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=72110).
If you still get the error, make sure you have at least 3 GB of space on the partition DoW is installed to as well as your c:\ partition. Turn off any firewalls and virus scanners.
If that still doesn't help, try patching in safe mode (reboot, hit f8 during boot, select safe mode).
It tells me it can't find DoW!
If you have reinstalled windows or moved DoW, this may have happened. If you have simply moved the game, follow these steps:
Click on Start.
Select Run.
Type "regedit", hit enter.
A new window will pop up. Using the explorer-style menu on the left, navigate to the folder HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\THQ\Dawn of War. Make sure the installation location in the right window pane actually matches the path for Dawn of War.
If that key is not present, you will have to reinstall the game.
I get some form of Spooge driver error or it tells me to reinstall directX!
Update your graphics card drivers. For laptop users: google for "omega drivers" and download/install them if your laptop manufacturer doesn't have any updated drivers.
It tells me I have the wrong version of DoW/this patch can't be applied to my version of DoW!
You have to install all previous patches before you can patch to 1.4.
None of this helped or my error isn't listed here!
Post in the technical assistance forum (http://forums.relicnews.com/forumdisplay.php?f=125), do not post in the general DoW discussion forum. Include your warnings.log and dxdiag.txt or we won't be able to help you. You can find instructions on how to do that here (http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=57900).
Do not send private messages to me or the rest of the forum staff. Post a thread instead. Private messages will be ignored.
